An American Wedding Celebration and Cakes

Saturday we were invited to the wedding of our neighbours.Celebration in an Anglican church in Easton and reception at the Country Club of our residence.Opportunity for us to see these places from another angle, and opportunity for me, to play reporters at the Point de Vue and Images ....

A few months before the wedding we received a Save the date, a stick on our refrigerator .. history of the date book with the names of tourtereaux, all on a background of Hawaiian landscape, a little kitsch ....( c It is a Hawaii that the application for marriage was made)

The Make-hand is quite similar to what we may receive in Europe, a few details pres however, the more load and decore ... with a heel response (I will, I shall not participate: the Americans are the kings the simplification), and a small carton .... asking us to choose our main dish: chicken or beef tenderloin ...

We were therefore the first to attend the loges depart from the married (to be preparing at home, so right next door) and its cortege ...

An hour before the ceremony: arrival of the stretch limousine, just below our windows.

Boarding the married, martini glass in hand (yes, attention has fear of missing, there is an hour of waiting, in front of the church, behind the tinted windows ... and it should not be missed and gosier arrive on dry at the altar!) and its armada of bridesmaids in their eternal bustier dress purple-violet (berk. color ...), unfortunately very common here .... especially in autumn. Finally, we have escaped the pumpkin orange, a little hard skinned quand meme ...

The celebration has lasted a half hour ... We are surprised by the small number of participants (meaning clean and figure) ... and the symbol somewhat austere and very rule of the ceremony.After leaving the church, the marriage is constantly thanking us so much of our presence at the church, we will understand why later.

Check at the place of reception: there are many many more people that the church .... And voila reason thanks. What we have been nice to come as a church (and say that there was the final of the Rugby World Cup .... aie aie aie!)

The cocktail is quite nice: petits fours, spoons (yes!), Crabcakes, and small fine dishes that are not a la carte usual. We are, however, less impressed by the champagne (which is not that sweeeeeet is far too). The view of the golf course is superb ....

What is surprising in American marriages, it is the timing.An hour later, we had to return to the tent for dinner and the rest of the evening. Attention: il est 18h00 (a titre d'info, la celebration religieuse etait a 15h30!). Warning: it is 18.00 (a title info, the celebration was a religious 15.30!). The dinner takes place in a good atmosphere, with no speeches or other customized rather than great moments .... We take our close neighbours table, from Romania, came with their daughter, tres sympathique.He was apparently well benefit from cocktail and pique regularly nose in his plate, before the woman who accompanies falsely hampered, which tells us that her husband is very tired at this time (but we are foreigners need not perhaps we take for c. .. quand meme!).Later, great moment, the same "young man" asked his girlfriend in marriage on the dance floor, while he does not hold water, .... and she said yes. Good luck....! Good luck ....!

On the table, each guest a gift, namely a small bottle of white wine pennsylvanien (of course with names of married .. and everything )...., more precisely, Bucks County, region of origin of the maries . The nearby Stephan will say that wine is better for "cooking "....( ok, for a nice risotto perhaps !...).

very very commercial....Britney, Justin Timberlake, bref tout ce qu'on adooooooooooooore...(!). The music is not very motivating ..... not very young, or if it is very very commercial .... Britney, Justin Timberlake, in short everything that adooooooooooooore ...(!) .We regret the DJ of our marriage ....

Grand time then for any self-respecting American: the wedding cake .....( almost as important as the dress and in all cases more than the menu of the wedding) ... Admire appearance leche, a perfect, and especially so little food of the thing .... And here it is:

In fact, it is a vulgar four-quarter (sometimes in the middle kind Genoese, but archi sec) with icing in the middle and around, not so bad at all, too much sugar, but mostly very very artificial.This was a wedding cake vanilla, I have sought in vain for the black seeds of the vanilla from Madagascar, not found yet .....

And then I will start happening bouquet, the launch of the door-garter .... but the best time charge of emotions (not for us, I can assure you) was the arrival on the dancefloor, small Dogs of the married, though combs and cleaned for the occasion .... With Stephan, we were surprised by the total absence of a child and the marriage .... well, I wonder if the arrival of a child would have aroused the same enthusiasm and gagatisme in the meeting that the arrival of these two small dogs although harmless, I ask myself again today .....
