CLUB CAREER

Dynamo Kiev

In 1986,when Shevchenko was noticed by a Dynamo kiev scout while playing in a youth tournment, he was thus brought to the club.Here started the golden time of Sevchenko by becoming the top scorer of Ian Rush cup in wales, while playing in Dynamo Kiev under- 14 team,in 1990. He was awarded by a pair of Rushs boots as prize by the then Liverpool player.

In 1992-93, he was the top scorer for Dynamo-2 with twelve goals, and he made an appearance in the first team list, taking Dynamo to their second successive league victory. He scored his first international goal in May 1996, in a friendly against Turkey, at Samsun. Shevchenko won the league again next season with Dynamo, scoring 6 goals in 20 games. The next two seasons, 1997-98 and 1998-99, were abundantly productive for Shevchenko. The highlight of his 1997-98 season was his first-half hat-trick against FC Barcelona in the 1997-98 Champions League, helping Dynamo produce a shock 4-0 away win. Shevchenko's exploits in the Champions League took Dynamo to the semi-final stage of the tournament, before they lost to Bayern Munich 3-4 on aggregate.

A.C. Milan

In 1999 Shevchenko signed for Milan for a record transfer fee at that time $25 million. He scored 24 goals in 32 matches in his debut session.He scored the winning penalty against Juventus in the final of Champions League 2002-2003 and become the first Ukranian player to lift the Champions League trophy. He was the top goa scorer in Serie A 2003-2004 for the second time in his career by scoring 24 goals in 34 matches. He was awarded by the European Player of the Year in 2004.

  In 2004-2005 season Shevchenko missed a lot of games due to fractured cheek bone, but still scored 17 goals in that season.He became the 5th player ever scoring 4 goals in one Championship League match, by scoring it in a group-stage match against Fenerbahce.

  Chelsea F.C

   On May 2006, Shevchenko left Milan and signed for Chelsea for £30 million  breaking the record fee for a player signed by an English Club.Shevchenko made his debut for Chelsea by scoring a goal, but loss to 2-1 against Liverpool. He missed a lot of matches in 2006-2007 season due to injury and hernia operation. In 2007-2008 season Shevchenko was in and out of matches due to injuries and the replacement of Avram Grant in place of Jose Mourinho.He finished the season with 5 Premire League goals.

 

Return to Milan

  On August 2008 Shevchenko returned to Milan for a less salary and loss his number 7 because of Alexandre Pato, occupying the 7 shirt. Now he is wearing 76 shirt.

He made his debut for Bologna without scoring a goal. His first goal was against Zurich in a UEFA Cup match,and Milan won that match 1-0.
