Anne Celeste Heche is an accomplished actress, director and screenwriter. She was born in Ohio to Donald and Nancy Heche on May 25, 1969. She was offered a part on As the World Turns when she was just 16, but both her and her mother decided that it would be best if she finished High School first.
As soon as she graduated high school, Heche accepted a part on Another World and moved from Ohio to New York City. She played the roles of twins Vicky Hudson and Marley Love Hudson from 1987 to 1991. She won a Daytime Emmy Award for her work on the show.
She’s starred in several major motion pictures, including Donnie Brasco, Psycho Six Days Seven Nights, John Q, Volcano, and Wag the Dog.
Heche is possibly best known for her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres. They started dating in 1997 and planned to get a civil union if the became legal in the state of Vermont. However, things didn’t stay that positive, and the couple eventually called it quits in August of 2000.
A year after she split up with Ellen, Heche claimed in her autobiography, Call Me Crazy, that she was mentally ill for the first 31 years of her life. She claimed that it was due to being sexually abused by her father. She also claimed to half an alter ego who was the daughter of God and half-sibling of Jesus Christ. The alter ego, whose named was Celestia, had contacts with alien life forms. According to Heche’s book, God contacted before her split from DeGeneres and informed her that He would walk with her for seven days.
Nancy Heche, Anne’s mother, is a Christian and psychotherapist, who claims to disbelieve that her husband ever sexually abused their daughter.
