So far lived through this day up to this point but the first write did not such survive. Just spent last forty minutes writing about five hundred words on this little box the hub gives you for your content and finished a lengthy piece about Windows and the day in the life I had today and went to spellcheck and the box caused Firefox to crash. Maybe it was the length of words that caused the error and the spell check could load up all the info thereby causing Windows to crash firefox so in all actually it was probably Windows fault though I didn’t spend the time to look for an actual cause just had to close out the stupid error report that Windows pops up and says it will send this to Microsoft to report the issue and whatever, but had to close error box and it closed firefox thereby all the work was just lost. And what I wrote about was having to deal with Windows today on a couple of jobs and the reasons I went back to XP instead of using Vista on a new laptop but the lengthy detail I won’t get into this second time since it is late but I can sum up the reason with a single sentence. Vista is a pretty version of Windows but it is still stupid and now more annoying with user security controls that actually do not stop any user from doing what they want to do anyway, what a surprise, and the time it takes to do simple tasks doubles so all I think of Vista is a pretty but a stupid, annoying, and flaky system since my wireless drivers work one time then didn’t and could connect to a XP home network then couldn’t even though the settings never changed so I went back to XP. Format with a /u but the hard part was to find the drivers for XP on a newer Gateway laptop so had to dig around quite a bit. Found one post that said of an older model of Gateway with XP the drivers would work for most devices, which did, but still had to look for more, especially the audio driver. Had to settle for a homemade driver for the Realtek device instead of getting one from Reaktek. Doing this from memory so think it was Realtek audio but the point is that it took awhile to get a newer laptop made for Vista to get it up and running with XP. So Windows hasn’t got any better just visual; the windows will materialize in front of your screen and with the transparent background looks good but looks aren’t everything. The other point was when netscape sued windows they should have wrapped up the case in a week, any user could have testified that Win98 didn’t run that much better just better driver cache but had explorer built in so case is closed. Kind of proves common sense doesn’t rule. But will stick with XP at least that is the best so far.

Writing this in word and will paste the words into that little box hub uses for content so won’t lose copy again. Since we had time today watched a couple of movies the first was The Reaping which was kind of hokey and blamed everything on a bunch of hicks. Shades of Moses with special effects that can be explained naturally which probably is the best part of the picture that goes with my thoughts of an inspired Moses leading a bunch of people through a natural disaster. However they want to write it up afterwards can sell novels. But creation comes from inspiration and the effects can only be worked out whatever is physically at hand so no need to get hysterical about exaggerations of a reality. The other movie was the fourth Harry Potter, though it is only magic, one can really see the far reaching plot as certain events take place in this movie that the other tales led up to so in all quite a well thought of story.

Movies have taken place of books since you can wrap up a story in a couple of hours instead of spending days reading a good novel and the average person spending way too much time nowadays working to pay for all the extra costs that keep getting heaped upon, even if rich it takes a lot of work than the ordinary to get that away. Of course there is the silver spoon but that’s the way it goes. Least I have lived another day to this point and it is not over until you are dead.
