Renting an apartment in Paris can be a truly wonderful experience. I mean you're in the city of love and their is so much to see and do in Paris.Apart from the usual sites such as The Louvre, Notre dame, Le Sacré Coeur and the Eiffel Tower there is one other big important thing that you shouldn't overlook when thinking of going to Paris: Where to stay.

Yes, where do you stay in Paris? Why not try renting an apartment instead of the usual hotel room? An apartment gives us more room to move about and to come and go as we please.if we are in a hotel we are governed by its rules, whereas in an apartment we have it so much easier. If you are thinking of staying in paris whether it's a quick business tri, a romantic weekend away or a short holiday, you won't go wrong in renting an apartment in Paris.

A few Paris monuments

Eiffel Tower

Opening Hours: Monday-Sunday 09:30-23:00 When one thinks of France, the Eiffel Tower immediately comes to mind. This iron tower is located on the bank of the Seine, and it is a prime tourist spot with over five million visitors each year. The tower, designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel and is 300 m high. It was completed in 1889, and it was the tallest building in the world at the time. It remained as such for over four decades, until the 319-metre high Chrysler Building in New York was erected in 1930. Today it is still among the tallest buildings in France, second only to the Allouis longwave transmitter.

The Champs-Élysées

One of the most famous avenues in the world - this is the essence of Parisian life. Lined with expensive fashion boutiques, classy restaurants and prestigious hotels, the Champs Élysées attracts thousands of tourists and businesspeople alike, as the area is also home to numerous head offices of international companies. The President's residence, the Palais de l'Elysèe, the Ministry of the Interior ( home office) and a number of embassies are another reason why this sought after and exclusive neighbourhood is so busy and diverse.

Le Jardin des Tuileries

Le Jardin des Tuileries is one of the most popular public gardens in Paris, situated in the centre of the French capital between Place de la Concorde and the Louvre. Within a stones throw from all the major city attractions but still slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the centre, it's a favourite stop for tourists on sightseeing tours.

The garden is relatively small but fabulously decorated, with sculptures which are of great interest to many visitors for both their historical and artistic importance. The impressive collection features sculptures crafted by such prominent names as Rodin, Coysevox, Giacometti, Jean Dubuffet et al. The oldest works date back to the 18th Century and are located in the Place de la Concorde section of the park.

What to do and what to see on your trip to Paris

Probably the most famous thing to do once in Paris is to visit the famous Eiffel Tower. It's breathtaking once you are at the top and it's also very cheap - about 4 Euros. The view as I'm sure you will agree once you see it is quite spectacular and on a clear day with no clouds you can easily see for 30 miles or more!

Many Parisians and tourists alike choose the Eiffel Tower and its surrounding areas for romantic reasons. You will often see people having a picnic beneath the tower or proposing to their loved one on top of it! It is a beautiful site in the evening, too with the tower lit up in a beautiful display of lights.

There are many things to do in Paris and if you are an art lover then you are in luck. Your trip to Paris would not be complete without a visit to the famous Louvre museum. Here is where you'll get a chance to see the famous Mona Lisa by the great master Leonardo Da Vinci. Incidentally this famous painting is also called La Gioconda. You could quite easily spend a weekend here as the museum has over 300,000 works of art. If you are an art lover I would recommend a day ticket to the Louvre because you can come and go as you please and also visit the nearby monuments and this will diversify your day trip to the Louvre. Having said that, many people would want to spend an entire week at the Louvre museum visiting its many paintings and works of art so a day ticket for real art lovers might not be for you!

As with any large and popular city Paris has many other things for you to see and do and I would thoroughly recommend planning your trip to Paris well in advance. This is mainly because a large amount of the attractions and monuments have waiting times especially if you go in peak times. It is best to have a plan "B" as it were and plan some alternative things to do just in case!

If you are looking for things to do in Paris you will need to plan at least a weekend in this wonderful romantic city and it doesn't matter whether you are coming with your partner or family, a weekend trip is an absolute must.

There are many ways to get to this wonderful city these days with cheap flights to Paris daily by most of these airlines being the normal way to get there. More and more people are now taking the London to Paris train with Eurostar as this only takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Waterloo and you get avoid those problematic airport check-ins. Once in Paris you are going to need accommodation and one of the best ways to visit this charming city is by renting an authentic Paris apartment. This will let you see Paris from a different perspective and will also give you more freedom to enjoy your stay with none of the hassles of a hotel.

The food was only fair, but I'd be happy to return. Interesting historic surroundings with friendly waiter. Rock bottom prices. We enjoyed sharing the table with three women from Quebec. Certainly a fun experience.
