The Isle of Islay is located off the West Coast of Scotland and is renowned the world over for its production of fine, single malt whisky. The Ardbeg Distillery is one of the three Islay distilleries located on the South Coast of the island and renowned for the peaty flavour of its single malts. This can lead to the whisky being very much an acquired taste for some people.

Main Street, Bowmore, Islay

There are well over a hundred working distilleries left in Scotland. This fantastic, captivating book provides a guide to them, their locations and their different production methods and techniques.

Ardbeg 17 Year Old: A Discontinued Line

The Ardbeg Distillery no longer produces 17 year old single malt which makes this whisky very much a collector's item. Only a few years ago, it could be bought for less than £50.00 a bottle but now you should expect to pay at least three times that, always assuming you can actually find a bottle to purchase. The most likely place to find it is on e-Bay where there remains the remote possibility that you can pick up a bargain. I will feature any current such e-Bay auctions further down this page.
