Aromatherapy candles are an amazing way to gain the benefits of fancy oil products.  But often the commercially produced candles bought at storesare rather little.  If you would like a giant aromatherapy candle that will stay lit for an extended time, you may wish to make some aromatherapy jar candles.  The candle is formed inside a glass jar, preventing spillage and dripping.

How does one make aromatherapy jar candles?  These are some steps.

The first step, of course, is to get some jars.  Canning jars are perfect.  They can be bought in bulk for a rather low price, and are sold in a selection of sizes to select from.  Possibly the best size is around a pint.  Or, you can clear out some used jelly, mayonaise, or peanut butter jars and make use of them to make your candle.  But please beware that a cylinder shaped jar is the most useful.  Jars with a narrow top are not to be used, due to issues lighting and extiguishing the candle.

The following stage is to get wax to use in creating your candles.  While beeswax is the best quality, it is also dear.  Soy wax is a nice alternative as it is healthy and organic.  It is suggested that you stay away from paraffin, because even though it is affordable its fumes are bad for your fitness, which renders aromatherapy purposeless.

Now you have wax, you want to select what essential oils to include in the candles.  Do some study on the characteristics and consequences of different oils, and perhaps test the scent of some oils in a store to determine which ones you think are soothing and nice.  You won't need much oil.  Only 5 drops of essential oil for each two cups of dried wax flakes.

The wax you buy will most likely be sold with candle-making instructions.  If this is so pay attention those.  But these are the primary procedures you can expect to follow.  First, melt the wax.  If it happens to be beeswax, you melt it in a double boiler.  Some vegetable waxes can be softened in the microwave.  After the wax is softened and not being heated anymore, you add the essential oil drops.  Don't forget, only 5 drops of oil for every 2 cups of UNMELTED wax ( you need to measure the wax before liquefying ).  Next, place the wick into the jar and hold it in position while pouring the wax within.  There's a gadget called a wick setter which you'll find helpful.  Then eventually, permit the wax to cool down and toughen while the wick is in position.  The result will be an aromatherapy candle set inside a glass jar.

Making aromatherapy jar candles is easy and fun.  Just make sure that you are using the suitable kind of heat source for the sort of wax you are using.  Now you can enjoy aromatherapy candles for long hours at a very low cost.
