Hi,
Luckily besides my address in Peru (South America for all those geographical illiterates) and my home phone number I give no further identity information. My concern is that over the last year I have received at least 20 e-mails, if not more, regarding having won the US Lottery, Miami Lottery, UK Lottery and as I have answered these guys I must be the luckiest person in the world to have won all these monies and in such a short period of time. I have received e-mails not only for having won the lottery but from people who refer that my last name matches the deceased person and they wish for my cooperation to cash this multimillionaire sum, offering me half of the amount!
What is up with them? Obviously when I have answered stating "well if you don't want to charge the excessive courier fees" (1,500 Pounds Sterling or 2,500 Us Dollars) to send me a check through the post if I am truly the beneficiary and I have even offered to send the cash through my son's account (which I will certainly not give the number for security reasons) in the UK, they have never again answered, thereby evidencing the scam.
What I can't understand is why the law doesn't clamp down on this type of messages. Surely, we must be able to devise a law whereby somebody can denounce and there is the evidence of the e-mail, to stop these n'ere do wells to continue scamming others.
Suggest that whoever is able to devise a program whereby these scammers can receive their just punishment, not only will we be regulating messages over the internet but we will also check and subject these scammers to justice and to hefty fines.
If there is such a website, please inform me because I will be more than happy to resend all the e-mails that I have been sent which I believe to be a scam and that I believe should not go unpunished.
Thank you
Hope somebody takes up on the matter.
