How to avoid panic attacks is a question all us panic attack sufferers would love to know the answer to. Though unfortunately before we even begin to see how we can avoid them we need to know what can prevent them. There are lots of causes for having panic attacks though usually simply a case of determining what the cause is for yourself.

Do you worry about having a panic attack in public? This is more than likely the hardest time to control your panic attacks even more so with so many people around and the thought of them watching you. Thoughts cross your mind such as 'I hope people are not looking at me' I feel very alone 'Will people think I'm weird' 'Am i normal' 'I don't want people to course a fuss and call an ambulance because it's only panic attack' all these thoughts and many more may cross your mind. These are all understandable thoughts that cross your mind but are not how you will avoid them, as this will only build up to make you have a panic attack.

It's normal and thousands of us have them around the world. don't feel your on your own, you are not odd, and everyone want to help you and make sure you're safe.

Try and forget these nervy thoughts from your mind try to concentrate on something else more relaxing or just taking 5 or 10 minutes and do some slow breathing exercises.

Do you drink loads of tea and coffee? If you are or you do consume a reasonable dose of caffeine on a daily basis will encourage you to have a panic attack as the caffeine feeds the nervous system. This doesn't mean to cut out the caffeine all together though if you want to avoid panic attacks then consider to reduce the amount of caffeine intake you are having other products to look out for, for example soda coke or cola are very high in caffeine.

Do you exercise? To avoid panic attacks always try and get a good amount of exercise into your daily routine, as when exercising it also releases hormones known as "runners high" this helps the natural euphoric feeling. Exercising is the best way to release these hormones. As you may well know plenty of exercise helps to pump blood round your body which will only be an advantage to your body and increase the blood flow which will help your nervous system.

When did you last take time out for yourself? These days we can be so busy and wrapped up with the day to day routine of working hard, looking after the house, busy with paper work and the house finances, looking after our close family and friends that we very rarely take time out just to do something for ourselves.

Being relaxed and staying focused will help you gain alot of control to avoid panic attacks.
When you start to feel anxious of worried about something you begin to panic which leads you to panic more about having a panic attack, then the whole situation gets greater and greater then before you know it you are having a panic attack.

You must stay focused and relax take some time to unwind even if its 20 or 30 minutes. Try some yoga as it really can help and have your mind in a very relaxed state. Another great way is meditation don't knock it until you've tried it, it's fantastic best way to switch off from everything to really feel yourself unwind and avoid panic attacks.

Panicking about panic attacks will only lead to more panic, to avoid panic attacks the key point to remember is stay relaxed and focused, deep slow breathing will help you greatly.
