The difference between people that have control of their finances and grow their wealth isn't as much as you may think from those that always struggle, and in connection to when we have a new baby, some of the similar techniques work in their own way in saving money, and can do a lot toward making things very affordable for us.

If you don't take cost-saving steps though, you'll find, regardless of how much money you take in, that things will get tough, and it simply doesn't have to be the case.

The simple secret is to spend a little time each day taking care of a few things, and over a period of time it builds up exponentially and really makes a difference.

So here are a number things that can be done to save money on baby products and food so you can enjoy those years and have extra money left over. 

Of course the first consideration should be in relationship to clipping coupons. Even though we use digital more than ever, there's still all those goodies in the Sunday paper that can more than pay for the small expense of picking one up and going through the numerous ads.

If you subscribe to magazines it's also a great place to get good coupons, especially if they're baby, marriage or family related.

But it's a waste of time if they aren't organized, so just take a little time and put them in order according to product and expiration date and you're good to go. 

Just as good and as easy to obtain are online coupons, where you can find just about anything and print them out for immediate gratification.

Understand that there are some ink costs involved, so don't print out coupons you'll never use, as it takes away from the purpose of savings.

All you have to do is find several of the thousands of online coupons sites and check them out on a regular basis. There are always new deals, and you know exactly what it is you're looking for, and will be able to find it quickly. 

If you're a mom, it's almost sure that you have all types of contacts and connections; both with other moms and women.

So let them know you have lots of coupons and tell them you'll be glad to do some trading to get what you need and want.

Many women are looking for coupons unrelated to babies, so think of items women and their families use a lot, and save them for bartering purposes.

Of course grandmas are another great source, and they'll be glad to get you all the coupons you need.

Any company will be more than happy to be contacted by potential customers looking for their products, and very few would decline to offer something to get you hooked.

So contact them and ask them if you can be sent samples or coupons for their products, letting them know you have a baby and will use their products for several years.

Another little trick is to contact companies when you're pleased or displeased with a product. Many times they'll send you appreciation coupons or many coupons to compensate you if you weren't satisfied for some reason. 

Quite a few baby companies offer rewards programs on the Internet, and all you do is buy what you would have anyway and get a bunch of free things including clothing, toys and gift certificates, which you can use to buy about anything.

Most baby product companies that have an online presence also have a mailing list you can join where you are sent an email with good information, along with many coupons that can add up to big savings.

If you have an active email account, it would probably better to use a secondary account, or create a new one so you can have everything organized and know exactly where you can find all the Internet email offers. 

If you're not aware of it, online comparison shopping is one of the easiest things to do, and all you have to do is enter the name of the product you're searching for and results will list the prices from top to bottom, which you can then choose.

One thing to keep in mind here is to take everything into account. It doesn't help if you have the best price and then shipping and handling costs make it more expensive than from another company. Add it all up before making a decision. 

Any time you get a deal, or really any time you buy, buy in bulk, as it's rare when you can't get a deal for buying more of a product.

If you're not great at math, just bring a calculator with you and do the math to get the real cost per item.

The money you can immediately save doing this is felt right away in your pocket book.

One caution here is to resist the practice of using more of something when you buy in bulk, as it can lead you to go through it faster, again, missing the purpose of saving money. 

Now many local stores have rewards programs, and it's a great way to save up, similar to online stores.

Some stores will offer cash back on items, others will send you coupons based on how much you spend, while others will send you coupons on a regular basis. 

I don't know if all towns have them, but in our town there's a baby store that allows you to turn in your old baby items for other stuff, giving you store credit to work with.

Once you understand their terms, what's good about this is you can get cheap but quality stuff at rummage sales and bring them to these types of stores for significant credit. Of course this works with your own baby products as well, if they're in good shape.

Consignment shops also have these types of deals, where you can sell and get a percentage, or even buy up some quality baby products at a good prices; both won win/win, and can safe and make you some nice extra money. 

So whatever products or even in some cases - services - you're looking for in your baby savings adventure, you can be sure they're out there, and just a few extra minutes a day can result in up to hundreds in savings for your baby through all the baby discounts out there for just the asking and a little searching and organization.

Coupons for babies are prevelant because retail outlets understand you can't get along without them, and getting baby discounts, especially via baby diaper coupons and baby formula coupons really add up into some big time savings and stretching of your spending dollars.

So saving baby money is saving you money, and using these tips will go a long way to helping you not only survive your baby spending years, but thrive and enjoy them.
