Baby Shower Thank You

Having held a successful baby shower it is normal to send the baby shower thank you cards. The best is to send it as soon as possible. Waiting a couple of weeks will seem for the participants that you did not care too much about their present, even if everybody got the card at the same time.

And you will be doing yourself a favour, to get the cards sent, because time flies, and you will be busy soon.

Having a blank stack of cards in front of you can however be quite overwhelming. What should you write, what should the cards look like.

You can make cards on your computer, write them by hand or purchase finished cards. It is really up to you. One argument for the hand written cards is that it brings a more personal touch to the message. However if your handwriting is like mine it might be a better idea to get pre printed cards.

It is important to remember, that it is the thought that counts, rather than the amount of money spent on the card.

When you write the cards, it is a good idea if you can remember who gave the different gifts, to mention the gift on the card, with a comment on where it will be useful, for example, 'Thank you for the pretty dress -- little Maggie will look absolutely smashing all summer".

Address the thank you card to the recipient by name and even if you think the present is horrible thank them in the most sincere way. Also thank them for their participation and tell them it was a pleasure to spend the time with them.

If the gift has a special meaning to you make sure you mention it. If it is something special for you people love to hear it.

You must also remember to thank the person that arranged the baby shower because these take a lot of time and a lot of effort. Some people love to arrange baby showers, and everybody loves to be thanked for a job well done.

If your baby is already born include a photo of your little one in the card. This makes an ideal baby shower thank you.

It is always a good idea to have someone in charge of making a list of who gave what at a party (even children's birthday parties) as gifts are opened because it makes it much easier to thank people. Those little cards and tags attached to wrapping paper can get lost so easily.

That is a great suggestion.. It is very easy to foreget who gave what and a list will save a lot of embarrasment.
