If you have taken some interest in search engine optimization, you would have seen a lot mentioned about gaining backlinks to your website.

Backlinks are hyperlinks added on websites not owned by that link back to a page on your website. Backlinks can also be hyperlinks, linking from one of your own websites, linking to another website of yours.

You can also hyperlink to someone elses website from yours. If they link to you and you link back to them, thats called reciprocal links. These types of links are frowned upon these days.

When you get anGoogle Adsense account, you will notice a feature called Adsense Channels.

Adsense Channels is a fantstic way to monitor what ads are earning you the most money.

Let's use an example. I have a website about how to make money with a Wordpress Blog. I place my Adsense ads in the header, and sidebar. Now as a Blogger I want to know which ad is making me the most money. This information will allow me to duplicate the process on my other websites.

So, when I setup Adsense in the header, I will also attach aadsense channel to it as well. I will give it a unique name like, header-790-mysite. Then when you go to your adsense statistics page and click "top channels" and it will show me exactly how much this particular channel earns me.
