Backpacking
54Backpacking is a more efficient way to travel. You can maximize your budget and can have a tentative schedule depending on where circumstances take you.
Is backpacking for everyone?
It really depends on the interest of the person. If you want a more relaxing experience, you go for luxury. But if you want to experience as many places as possible, go backpacking. The advantage is that you can realy stretch your budget and visit more places. Backpacking brings you down to the level of the local culture because you see what's happening on the streets. You cannot do this if you're stuck in a luxury hotel.
For first time backpackers, it is important to read about the place and culture so when you get there, you can understand it. Plan months in advance. It really requires a lot of planning and when the time comes, you have to drop everything.
Travel light. It's a lot easier to use a backpack because it's easy to carry and bring with you when you travel from one place to another. Always remember to leave some space in your bag because you might want to bring home some souvenirs. Some travelers ship their souvenirs to their home country so they don't have to bring it home with them.
Lastly Keep an open mind. There are a lot of cultural differences - you shoudn't be irked by that. No two countries are the same and even if you don't like their culture, you should still respect it.
