Best Bacne or Back Acne Treatment
59Bacne, AKA Acne on Back
Searching for how to treat back acne? Bacne, or acne on back, is a common condition that affects many adolescents and young adults. The back is prime real estate for acne because it produces a lot of oil. In some cases, allergies to detergents, irritation from clothing, and use of a comedogenic laundry detergent can exacerbate an already precarious bacne situation necessitating treatment for back acne. Decide on the path you want to take with your back acne treatments. Severe back acne, such as cystic or nodulocystic acne should always be treated by a dermatologist with prescription medication. More common conditions of acne vulgaris of the back can be treated with traditional back acne remedies such as a three pronged attack of good hygiene, benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid.
Back Acne Treatment
Treating back acne can be easy if you stick to a regular regimen. If you want to get rid of back acne it will take a little discipline, but the reward is well worth it. In addition to the back acne remedies below, always follow general acne treatment guidelines: eat well, drink plenty of water, and no picking or popping. Cure back acne with the following bacne treatments:
- Switch to a soap or body wash that contains 2% salicylic acid. In
the shower, wash with something slightly abrasive such as a loofah or
pouf. The goal in this step is to prevent back acne by washing away oil and dead skin cells so that pores don't become clogged. Be careful not to irritate your skin.
- If your skin becomes too dry after showering, use a little non-comedogenic moisturizer. If your skin is dry, it will tell your sebaceous glands to produce more sebum, which is bad.
- Apply benzoyl peroxide to treat back acne problem areas as needed. 10%
benzoyl peroxide is too strong for many people. If you are in this
boat, try 5% or 2.5% benzoyl peroxide instead. This will help clear back acne you currently have. If you can't tolerate
benzoyl peroxide at all, use natural medications like tea tree oil,
lemons, and tomatoes applied topically.
Back Acne Causes
The causes of back acne are not clearly known, and they are different for everyone. Effective ways of getting rid of back acne are known, however, and that's more important than back acne causes. Adult back acne treatment should be approached in the same way as adolescent bacne treatments, however if home remedies do not seem to work, check out a dermatologist - a doctor may be able to help you find a solution.
