Bakugan Battle Brawlers are some of the hottest toys on the scene today and sure to be popular for the holiday season. The Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a Japanese action adventure anime series of 51 episodes so far. It's currently shown on Cartoon Network as of 2008 in the United States after originally starting in Japan.

The series revolves around these creatures called "Bakugan" who are owned by Battle Brawlers. Sega Toys and Spin Master have manufactured a strategic game which involves the use of metal cards and magnetic spring-loaded mini figures, making for an exciting realm of endless gameplay for children ages 6 and up. The spring-loaded miniature figures represent the Bakugan creatures. Simply put, Bakugan may have become the newest Pokemon or Magic the Gathering style game for many people, although it's very unique in the way its played.

Bakugan games make for hours of entertainment for children ages 6 and older. This exciting game is played with two to four competitors doing battle with their Bakugan.  The object of the strategic game is to capture three of your opponent's gate cards.  A battle begin between player's Bakugan when two marble spheres are rolled onto the same gate card, causing the creatures to spring up instantly for battle.  To determine the winner of each battle the sum of various player cards are added up such as "G-Power" from Bakugan, gate card, traps, and ability cards.  Whichever player's character has the highest "G-Power" is considered winner of that battle.

The strategy comes into play with how players set up their gate cards on the playing field/board, and also with being able to roll or shoot their Bakugan marbles onto the cards with precision.  The game will involve strategy, precision and then mathematics as players will add up their point totals to determine battle winners.

An alternate form of play exists for "Big game style" in which each player has six Gate cards rather than three.  The object in this game is to capture six of a player's gate cards.

It's important to note that there are many different colors and types of Bakugan that can be added to a child's collection.  These can also be traded with friends, making them one of the hottest toys today!

The Battle Pack may be the best way to get your child started with the world of Bakugan, as the Battle pack includes eight metal cards, six Bakugan and instructions to get them going.  It'll also be a great way for them to allow others to play who don't have the game or toys yet.
