Sometime Google might ban you due to some your website due to some of things that you might be doing to your website and they may include:-

• Meta tag stuffing
• Alt image tag stuffing
• Title tag spamming
• Hidden text.

These are some of the “SEO tricks” that you might want to stay away from since they will not help you rank well and they will eventually get you banned in the process.

However, you might not be doing any of the above and get banned. And how is this possible? But before we look at those things, let’s demystify some of the things.

• You will get banned if a “link farm” links to you – FALSE
• If your link partners’ content is not related to yours, you will be banned - FALSE
• PR1 websites will not help since Google doesn’t list PR1’s – FALSE.

NB: Anything that a competitor is doing will not get you PENALIZED.

And think this for a second, if the above factors were true then all your competitor would do was just place a link in a link farm and your website will be on its way down. The only way that you will be banned is by linking back to those penalized websites. They include:-

• Banned website – “Gray barred website”
• Link farms.

This can be very tough since we need to always keep an eye on the website that we exchange links with. Look at this example:-

Suppose 6 months ago my website is a PR6 and I exchange links with another PR6 website and 2 months down the line the link partner start doing all sorts of “Black Hat SEO” and gets banned and am since I am not paying close attention to the website and am still linking back. This will get my website penalized even by not doing anything to my website.

Therefore, it is of paramount importance that you always check back with website that you are linking with regularly to make sure that you are not linking to those “bad neighbourhoods”.

Sadly this is the most common way that webmasters get penalized by Google without make any changes to their websites. However, doing this manually can be tedious but there is a tool that is usually use called SEO Elite and works great for me. When you detect that you are linking to these “bad neighbourhoods” you need to delete their links from your website and you will go back to rank well again.

If you are familiar to exchange links, you might be aware that you can search for websites that have forms that you can fill and get link partners that way, right from Google. You can enter such information like:-

• Name of your website.
• URL
• Description
• URL where you reciprocate.

The most awesome thing is that you can find a load of websites that you can link to. To get this websites, this is what you do.

Ø Go to Google

Ø Type the following phrase as it is: keyword “Please also suggest my link to the LinkPartners.com Directory."and replace the “keyword” with the keyword that you are optimizing.

Ø Hit Enter – Google will give a ton of websites that have a form that you can enter your website information above. Create a link to all those websites and that’s about it.

What intrigues me the most is that you are guaranteed to get link partners that are so closely related to your website.
