As I would travel back and forth to work everyday I would always gaze from the highway onto the Mississippi River and see all of the barges that were traveling up and down the river. It intrigued me as I wondered about the people that made a living pushing and pulling these massive vessels of steel up and down the Mississippi River day in and day out. So one day after work I grabbed my camera and traveled to a park in south St. Louis city right near the river called Sr.Marie Charles Park.

The Sr. Marie Charles Park sits right on the banks of the Mississippi River and the park is only about 100 meters long and about 20 meters across and is meant as a place perfect for viewing the river and relaxing as you watch the waves and the boat traffic go back and forth.

I was impressed by the view from the park. The barrier chains sit right at the edge of the cliffs of the banks and you feel as though you are right on the river. It is a very relaxing place to go to clear your thoughts and enjoy nature and boats. I was inspired to take photo after photo until I ran out of disk space on my memory card on my digital camera. All of these photos were taken with a Sony Cybershot 3.3 megapixel camera. The Cyber shot is a great camera and takes wonderful pics especially close ups.

This hub is the first of a series of hubs that I will be posting with pictures from the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River in St. Louis Missouri.  I really enjoyed every second I spent taking these photos and I have tons more photos to show.  Please feel free to comment on these photos and enjoy them as I will.
