Bathroom Tile Designs

Deciding on the right bathroom tile design for your home will not be a simple matter when you start your remodeling project; deciding on a style however, is easier said than done but there is not point redecorating until the choice has been made. If you have a large bathroom this can be quite a daunting prospect so it is lucky that the range of styles, finishes and textures, is extensive; this is convenient of course because there will probably something that will suit your style within your budget. Some tile designs are more desirable than others including those that are more traditional like stone, Italian marble and the famous harlequin design but colorful tiles are also becoming more popular.

Of course the cleanest looking bathroom style is usually created as a result of using the harlequin bathroom tile which is basically a white tile with small black diamonds in a grid pattern. The tiles tend to be a little longer and the pattern resembles a mimes costume in a way but you can opt for this classic design in just about any combination of colors from earthy tones to bright reds.

My favorite is the black and white design as the effect it has is hard to match and always improves the look of a bathroom. If you use these tiles around a clean white Victorian style bath tub on four feet with chrome fittings you can imagine how striking this looks.

The effect this provides can make it look as though you have spent a fortune on your bathroom but chrome and other polished metal fixings can cause problems as they mark easily. This effect however, may not seem so wonderful if you have to spend time polishing the fixings everyday.

Personally, I like a harlequin bathroom design in black and white as the diamond shape of the pattern really yields well to the stark contrast of the extreme colors. If you have a little more to spend you may want to consider marble in your bathroom tile design and although it is expensive it will provide an unparalleled look and feel which everyone will admire.

Although wall and floor tiles can be very expensive, by using a reasonably priced bathroom tile as a base for the overall pattern you are going to save money. Add a little character and spark with more expensive tiles here and there and you get a rich look at a fraction of the cost.

No matter what design you choose you probably want to consider investing in a professional for installation. I know that you can save a lot of money by doing it yourself but you may find that you waste more time and material if you are not familiar with the process. Bringing your bathroom remodeling project to life is not a job for a novice.
