Is your Beach Wedding Cake Cooked?

As a bride to be you are truly spoilt for choice when it comes to the range of beach wedding cakes available these days, but have you considered what goes into the inside of the cake rather than just what it looks like on the outside? Don't worry you are not alone, we are all sucked in by beautiful outward appearances in the media that we tend to forget about the inside.

Imagine you have selected the most beautifully decorated cake embellished in fine details... then when you take a bite into it and it's not cooked.

How disastrous would that be for your beach wedding day?
Consider this to be a key element in choosing your beach wedding cake, it's not just about looks when it comes to choosing your beach wedding cake, it's got to taste good too.

Other key considerations are also to take note of some of your guest's allergies, like nut allergies for example. The last thing you want is for someone to be rushed to hospital. If this happens then not only will you have a ruined beach wedding cake but also a ruined beach wedding day.

Don't put yourself in these awkward situations. I have put together 3 key items to help you select the ideal beach wedding cake. Click here for more

Budget for the beach wedding Cake

Remember even the cake needs a budget. You may want a showstopper but can you afford it? Well with the right choices you can get the ideal cake and stick to your budget.

The prices of Wedding Cakes varies from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars depends on the shape, size and decorations. According to The Bridal Association of America the average price of a wedding cake is about $540 . Do you really want to spend that much on cake?

A simple wedding will cost you about $1.5 to 3 per slice and the pricing will go up to $15 to 20 per slice if your cake is an exquisite and elaborate designer one.

The cost per slice increases the more elaborate the design and other features. The simpler you keep it the less it will cost.

Why not consider cupcakes for your beachwedding cake? Another example of simplicity is a plain iced cake with fresh flowers as decoration. Not only will you have a picture perfect cake but you won't have to worry about decorations breaking or falling off and options like these won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Get Professional Help

Choose a professional baker. Even though you may be a great baker, making a beach wedding cake will be no easy task, you may need to buy new baking pans and other equipment.

So unless you are planning on starting up your own bakery after the beach wedding, this will be an unnecessary cost. Professionals know what they are doing and at least you can have someone else to blame if the beach wedding cake isn't cooked.

Why not select 5 of your favourite styles then take to 5 different vendors for a price. Don't forget to ask the vendor for a discount even you may just get it.

Spice Things Up But Know Your Guests Allergies First

When choosing the flavour of your beach wedding cake, it is important to take into account some of your guest's dietary needs.

Don't just consider the frosting but also the cake itself! For example if anyone has a nut allergy or especially if half the groom's family is lactose intolerant. Then you wouldn't want to go for butter cream and macadamia cake. You could consider the fondant cake instead. This type of icing made of sugar, corn syrup and gelatine. To be on the safe side of allergies you could stick to vanilla and the old favourite chocolate.
