The seating arrangements your beach wedding ceremony will depend on the location and layout of the ceremonial place. Two main elements to keep in mind are;

  • creating a focal point to allow all guests to witness the ceremony
  • ease of access for guests to enter and leave seats.

A few layouts include;

CONCENTRIC: chairs arranged in circular form around a central focal point in which case will be the beach wedding couple.This is better suited to a large number of guests.This is a great layout to make you feel like you're at the centre of the universe.

THE HORSE SHOE Depending on your number of guest you could chairs in a semi circle divided by and opening in the middle.This is the circular alternative for fewer guests.This works well if you want the water to be a backdrop to your focal point.Guest can take in the views and watch the ceremony.

SQUARE two equal rows of chairs split by a central aisle looking forward at the couple.This is practical since guests have two aisles to exit and enter seating.

RECTANGULAR Two rows of squares with the ceremony in the centre.This works best when you're arranging seating for few guests, the more chairs you have the more difficult it will be for the back rows to see the ceremony.

Besides the possible layout options you may want to consider if you will incorporate beach wedding Feng Shui into your layout then you may need to take into account the direction you will be facing.

  • Once you've got the layout sorted, you can get to working on who will be sitting next to who.To keep the balance make sure you pair likely people together rather than create too much tension or place all the rowdiest guests in one corner.
  • Be practical, keep the elder guests and anyone in wheelchairs assigned to front row seats for ease of access.
  • Keep guest with young children close to the end of the row so they can easily leave the seats to cater to children's needs.
  • To ensure the comfort of guests, make sure your invitation suggests they bring sunglasses, and sunscreen.Alternatively you could provide complimentary parasols or caps and plenty of water to keep guests refreshed.
