How to be a Sentimental Beach Wedding Bride
56If you are a sentimental bride like I was then there are a few great ways to preserve those captured memories of your beach wedding day,
1. Scrap booking
Why not start a scrap book from day one.Collect all samples and ideas you looked at before you made your final choice. This will be great momento for your children to look back on.
Scrap booking doesnt have to cost a fortune, you can find countless affordable online sources for decorative motifs, or you could get creative and make your own.Use old news papers and magazines for catchy graphics and images or if you have a printer you can print your own designs.Use seas shells and even preserve your wedding boquet by making pressed flowers out of it.
HERES SIMPLE AND FREE METHOD TO PRESS FLOWERS
- Gather the flowers you want to press, along with some newspaper, tissue paper, a heavy book (a phone book works well), and a large brick or rock.
- First set out a piece of cardboard that is almost the same size as your book, lay a piece of newspaper (about the same size of your cardboard piece) on top of that, followed by a piece of tissue paper (also about the same size as your cardboard piece).
- Place the flowers on the tissue paper. Make sure none of them touch each other or hang over the side of the tissue paper.
- Cover the flowers with another piece of tissue paper, then newspaper, and then cardboard.
- You can continue this process, one on top of the other, until all your flowers are prepared.
- Once your stack is done, top it off with your heavy book and the brick or stone. This method usually takes 2 - 4 weeks.Once dry you can finish with a protective sealant to prevent the flowers from fading color.Enquire about a suitabel sealnt at your craft store.
- Once complete either frame them or place into your scrap book.
2. Photographs
Hiring the right photographer is a crucial decision,as the memories he captures in your beach wedding photographs will be precious to you,and to your generations yet to come.Make sure to capture moments in the dressing room, the fine details of your ceremony and reception like flowers, rings and the cutting of the cake, your father daughter dance and especially that first dance as a married couple.
HERE ARE A FEW KEY ITEMS TO CONSIDER WHNE HIRING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
- if you are getting married on a beach far from home, inquire through the hotel or resort you will be staying at, if they are involved in hosting your wedding. A last great resource use the internet. Most photographers have websites, and you will be able to see their work online before you ever contact them.
- When you interview a photographer, ask specific questions about the locations s/he has covered as a photographer. If s/he has only photographed indoor weddings, or only shows you samples of indoor work, you really must insist on seeing his/her outdoor work. If they can show you great pictures from a family reunion at the beach, at least that will give you an idea of his/her ability to work with the natural elements. You don't want big shadows or squinty eyes in your wedding photographs, and unfortunately, that's a common problem with beach photography.
- Secondly, talk with the photographer about your desires and expectations. How obtrusive do you want him/her to be? Do you want lots of candid shots, or do you prefer posed photos? What scenes do you specifically want (i.e. walking down the aisle, exchanging rings, etc), and what group shots are very important to you? Some photographers bring along a second photographer with them and one goes with the groom, the other with the bride. This allows the photographer to be two places at once, and the prints can make very personal and fun “He-Said, She-Said” albums!
- Third, will you be able to purchase a cd of all the photographs? Some allow this option only if you print a certain number of the photos through their studio, while others just take the photos and sell you the cd and leave it up to the couple to order their own prints through whatever service they desire. Smart couples purchase the cd and put it in a safe deposit box, thus preventing a house fire or similar disaster from wiping away their wedding photographs.
- Fourth, when can you expect to view the proofs and how long will it take to order and receive them? How will they be delivered? Is there a time limit as to when you can continue to order more prints (do they archive each session for future use, or are they destroyed)?
- Lastly, most photographers require a deposit before the wedding and payment in full the day of. Some photographers use this as a scam, so please be sure to research your choice carefully, especially in asking for references of former satisfied couples. Don't let anyone cheat you out of preserving your wedding day memories!
