Music is an important element of your beach wedding, but it may present some unique challenges, as Mother Nature's acoustics are quite different than an indoor location. The best way to bring music to your ceremony is to hire musicians to play live; a few guitars, violins, reed instruments, etc. Then you don't have to worry about microphones, though if you feel you still need them, you can rent battery powered amplifiers and sound systems to use outdoors. Alternatively you could hire a DJ.

DO KEEP THE FOLLOWING IN MIND WHEN SELECTING MUSICIANS AND YOUR MUSIC

• You may be lucky enough to have musicians among your family and friends who will be attending your wedding.

• When it comes to choosing the music for beach wedding, you simply have 2 choices; either a band or solo artist performing live or a DJ.

• Entertainment is usually a big part of the wedding-day expense. Be honest with yourselves about what you can spend before you start shopping.
• Party sites are occasionally subject to volume limits or curfews.
• Popular wedding entertainers are often booked over a year in advance. So get an early start.
• When choosing between the two options, consider which is important to you-Do you want songs you love to sound exactly as they do on the radio? Or do you prefer the more creative style and energy that a band offers? Also consider logistics and cost: Band members will need to take breaks; DJs typically cost less; and a band will require more space.
• While hiring both a band and DJ is done, it can be costly. A more price-friendly compromise is "crossover entertainment" where a DJ performs alongside a live band: The DJ mixes a selection of songs which are accompanied by live drums, horns, guitar and keyboard. This way you hear the songs the way you remember but with the energy of a live band.
• Some couples want the bandleader or DJ to narrate the party, while others prefer entertainers to stick to playing the music.In some instances the DJ doubles as a master of ceremonies.

• Be sure to check references to make sure you're really getting your money's worth.Alternatively you could watch them perform live gig to just see for yourself.Or listen to their CD.

• List your choice of music then discuss with the DJ or band how to incorporate into the ceremony.

• Think carefully about whether or not to use a microphone. At first consideration, it seems logical, but that microphone will also pick up the sound of the wind and waves, so it may be preferable to seat the guests close together and very near the front so that they can hear better, even if their personal space is a little tighter than it would be indoors.
