It's no secret most of us love shoes and as gorgeous as you may look in a pair of stiletto's they're simply not appropriate beach wedding shoes.Instead of making you taller, they could get you stuck in the sand.

BAREFOOT BRIDE

Whether you are wearing a light summery wedding gown or princess style beach wedding dress, going barefoot is the most comfortable option. If you are in sandals or pumps, the sand will get trapped in the shoe, making you uncomfortable when the sand comes into contact with your skin.

Going barefoot doesn't necessarily mean completely bare, there are several elegant ankle and foot jewellery options to consider to accent your perfectly pedicured feet.

Such an example is the barefoot sandal, it doesn't have a sole but consists of a T strap adorned with ornaments such as shells, pearls or flower that wraps around the ankle and toes.

If you're not too thrilled about going barefoot then the flip flop is a casual alternative . Flip-flops are available in various styles, from plain to elegant. Make sure to choose the right size and a good quality flip flop since you wont want it to cut or for your to trip before you walk done the ceremonial aisle.

If you prefer a formal shoe then the next best option to a flip flop is a low heel or wedge style sandal. The wedge is good since it offers more stability than a stiletto would and it will boost your height too. They do come in rubber variety suitable for use at the pool or the beach.

Remember before you expose your feet make sure they are well maintained. Here's a home foot spa regime to follow months before the wedding.Don't wait that last minute pedicure before the beach wedding.Get stared early to make sure your feet look perfect.

SOLE FOOD

Here are two of my favorite home made foot remedies;

Lemon Cuticle Softener

  • Mix one egg yolk with one tablespoon of pineapple juice
  • add five drops of lemon juice
  • Soak nails or toes in this for 15 minutes, or apply directly to cuticles,
  • gently push cuticles back with an orange wood stick.
  • Refrigerate for future use.

Nutty Exfoliating Paste:

Drop 1/4 cup hazelnuts or almonds in a blender or coffee grinder until coarsely ground. Mix together 1/4 cup of dry oatmeal, 2 tablespoons of honey, 3 tablespoons of cocao powder. Refrigerate for future use.

HOME FOOT SPA

  1. Place your feet in a bowl of warm water with a few drops of chamomile and lavender or your favorite essential oil blended into the water. Soak for 10 minutes then pat feet dry with a towel. Alternatively if you have a foot spa, use this instead.
  2. Apply cuticle softener, wait 2 minutes before you gently push back cuticles using a rubber or wood cuticle stick.Careful not to damage the nail bed by pushing the cuticle too far back.
  3. Soak it in water for a minute, then rub the dead skin off the heels with a pumice stone or foot scrubber.
  4. Massage your feet with the exfoliating paste. Rinse thoroughly.Pat dry.
  5. Apply a moisturizing cream or oil.
  6. Now that the feet are gloriously clean and moisturized you can proceed with the final touches of applying polish, roll up a paper towel and weave it through your toes to separate them.
  7. Apply polish from the bottom of the nail to the tips, starting in the center. Don't let the polish get on your cuticles or skin as it is extremely drying and will make your cuticles look rough.
  8. After applying polish, take a Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to tidy up.
  9. Go flaunt your feet in some sexy sandals.
