You're all set up with your beach wedding theme. You've got your event area all decided, the decorations all planned, the right wedding party dress and the right wedding dress and groom attire. What pulls the whole thing together and gets your guests ready for your theme? The perfect themed beach wedding invitations.

A beach wedding theme may not necessarily be at the beach. It doesn't even have to be in summer. What better time to celebrate warmth than the cold of winter? No, it doesn't have to be sunny California beaches or even near water to have a beach theme. It only takes a creative mind and the proper invitation to get your guests in the spirit.

Setting up a theme, before creating the invitations, is the best plan. While there is a wide arrange or products to buy, narrowing down the theme is still a better idea in order to save time on your wedding planning. There are hundreds of themes available even within the small nice of beach weddings. Is your theme romantic, fun, sexy or maybe modern or vintage? Consider the different array of decorations available and you'll see that settling on one theme is the best option. Once you have a theme its easier to decide the type of invitations you want.

Beach theme wedding invitations can come in different sizes and styles. You can make your own or have them custom made to your specifications. You can buy homemade wedding invitations from artists or online vendors that specialize in arts and crafts for weddings. You can buy invitations as plain or printed. Will your invitations have a poem inside? Have you considered hiring a professional writer or poet to write for your invitations? Which brings us to; how will you word your invitations?

When you have a specific theme in mind for a wedding, its a good idea to relate the theme to your guests. Suppose you have a beach wedding theme in November, but your invitations give no hint of that to your guests. It stands to reason that most will come in heavy clothing for winter. If they are given the information ahead of time, they will be able to dress accordingly. Somehow its important to convey what your theme is while still being romantic and elegant.

For your beach wedding invitations, choosing a theme will be easy in the sense that you will get exactly what you want, and hard in the sense that there are so many different options to choose from. Themes can be fun and flirty or soft and romantic, its whatever you choose. The beach theme can include oceans, or sea creatures, sand or shells, or a combination of all of them.

Fun and Flirty Beach Wedding Invitation Themes

If your beach wedding theme is fun and flirty, there are great ways to make the invitation match your setting. Using cartoons, fun sea creatures, margarita glasses, sunglasses and swimsuit pictures are all great ways of conveying the idea that your wedding will be more fun than austere.

Cartoons can be a great way to show your guests that they can come dressed for fun. Perhaps a Finding Nemo invitation seems a bit childish, but using a cute cartoon fish can just be fun too. Perhaps you can incorporate the Disney theme into your motif as well. Have the Finding Nemo invitations is just a start, you can add The Little Mermaid place holders and even have the music play during the reception at some point.

If Finding Nemo is a bit too much for you, try adding some cool summer pictures to your invitations. Grab a pin up girl picture and use that for the invitation. Pin up girl beach wedding invitations can also be used to convey your vintage wedding theme, if you choose to have one. Put sunglasses and beach balls on the front of an all blue invitation and you have a great summer fun beach theme for your invitations.

Flip flops and beach towels are another idea for the front. Make the invitations even more fun by adding embellishments like real sea shells and even real sand sprinkled on the front.

Take a picture of yourselves in summer clothes doing something fun like playing beach volleyball and use that as the back drop for your invitations. The groom can hold the bride in his arms while you both smile.

These unique ideas will convey to your guests the type of attire that you wish them to wear. All the different outfits will also add ambiance to a reception.

Be sure to include a dress code at the bottom of the invitation, just in case someone misunderstands. You don't want your beach wedding invites to be misunderstood.

Fun and Flirty Beach Wedding Invitations Wording

Beach themed wedding invitations can be worded any way you want. Here are some of my ideas for a beach theme wedding invitation:

Celebrate our joyous beginnings with a little fun in the sun

Brides Name

and

Grooms Name

Invite you to a summer barbeque, where we'll just happen to be getting married on

This date

at this time

Bring your beach balls, swimsuits, sundresses and shorts to

This Location

PS: Dont forget your sunscreen

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brides Name 's is celebrating her marriage to

Groom's name

on

This day

at

This Place, at this time

Our joyous day will be filled with sunshine and laughter.

We hope to see you there

in casual summer wear

More Formal Beach Wedding Invitations

Some beach wedding themes are about romance and the soft light of summer evenings, rather than the day fun in the sun type. A simple but beautiful way to convey that your wedding is more formal, even while on the beach, is to use traditional wording on the invitations. Another way is to convey how special the day is by making the invitations as elegant as possible. Using pictures of the beach or yourselves, adding specialty paper or even requesting formal attire is not out of the question.

Using a photograph of a sandy beach at dusk with the colors of the ocean and the sunset mixing is a beautiful way to introduce your theme to your guests. It also conveys a more formal atmosphere. Another great way of using pictures to display your theme is to have a picture of the bride in groom in formal attire on beach itself, perhaps staring out at the ocean.

Using specialty calligraphy and light pastel watercolors is another way to have more formal beach wedding invitations. I recently saw a picture of hearts drawn in the sand for a wedding invitation, this seemed quite touching to me, I'm sure it would be so to your guests.

I must admit, I've never been to a wedding on a beach, but the concept intrigues me, the romanticism of the waves crashing onto the shore while you exchange vows and rings would just be magical.
