My Friend is a Real Estate Appraiser
I was strolling around one of the malls and I met a friend of mine. He was the one who initially greeted me. I first saw him though but I hesitated because I wasn’t sure, because he looked quite differently from about 4 years ago when I met him somewhere. Back then he was so ordinary, but now he seems to look rich. We conversed for just awhile because I had to go picked up my wife and kids. He handed me his business card and there I saw that he is a real estate appraiser.
After a week called him up and we met, this time we had a longer conversation. He told me about the change that happened in his life when he started in his career as a real estate appraiser. He told me how rewarding and satisfying his job is and that he can have that quality time he always wanted to spend with his family and friends. Plus of course the financial freedom it has brought in his life. I got interested and soon I was asking him a lot of questions about how to become a property appraiser.

Tips To Become A Property Appraiser
Here are the main points he told me about becoming a real estate appraiser.
- Choose a school and get trained - you can choose a school offline, online or through correspondence. Schools provide the foundational education and training.
- Get technical training - some school programs do not include a hands-on requirement, but in most states a hands-on training or an internship is required. As much as possible choose programs that include the technical training so as to prepare you well for the real thing.
- Choose a good mentor - good mentors are difficult to find. When you find one get the most out of your mentor. Learn the trade well.
- Pass the appraiser Exam - To finally have the license to work as an appraiser you need to pass the appraiser exam. Prepare well for it.
