Choosing bedding suddenly became a whole lot easier in recent years with the appearance of the bed in a bag and bedding ensembles on the shelves.

Instead of having to choose and buy sheets, blankets, pillow slips, duvet covers and comforters you can buy a beautifully co-ordinated bedding set in one single shopping trip.

Of course, there are still decisions to be made as there are a whole plethora of bedding ensembles to choose from. But the bedding designers have already done the hard work in putting some great looks together using some of the best quality bedding.

When looking at various bedding ensembles think about

2. Quality - Does the quality of the fabric and stiching mean that the bedding will wash and wear well and be comfortable in use or will it get quickly old, thin and faded?

4. Pattern or Design - Does it match your bedroom decor or are you happy to decorate your bedroom based on the design? There are so many bedding color schemes available in ensembles, don't compromise until you have one which is exactly right.
   
5. Theme - is the bedding ensemble the right style for your bedroom? Are you looking for something glamorous or something classic/traditional? Are you looking for romantic frills and flowers or something plain and chic?
   
6. Everybody happy?- have you consulted your partner about the choice or do they not care?

1. In large department stores. They generally have a large section for bedding and you will find bedding ensembles there. The bedding ensembles sold in department stores are generally of good quality and you will find some high-end designer brands in the larger stores too.
   
2. Soft furnishings shops. You will find bedding in stores which sell curtains and other soft firnishings. You may find curtains to match your bedding here at the same time. Just make sure you don't go too over the top with coordination and have every last detail in the room matching.
   
3. Local stores selling beds. Sometimes there will be a small range of bedding in bed stores.

5. Discount stores. You may find one or two bedding ensembles on sale in discount stores but they will generally not be of the highest quality. You may find the latest colors here however and they can be good for freshening up a guest bedroom which is only used occasionally.
