Sea Salt and your Health

Being a surfer for over 30 years I have a unique relationship with the Ocean. realizing years ago that the key to my survival was learning how to live in harmony with the ocean.

I noticed early in my surfing career that surfers seemed healthier than most of the people I knew. They were more active they seemed happier and truthfuly more focused and independant than the average person.

It was the American coach potato that coined the phrase surfer bum, which seemed odd to me because the surfers i have seen are in great shape. Far from being lazy or bums?

Anyway I figured it might have something to do with sea water, we are always in it? So over the years I have talked to 100s of people about using sea water to get minerals back into our diet.

Of course the fat cat doctors that are out of shape and would rather give you drugs to treat your symptoms will tell you other wise. You cant drink sea water ! You cant grow plants with it either, both are far from the truth.

You can drink diluted sea water for many reasons you can take sea salt to heal your body. When I say heal your body I am talking about giving it the building blocks so it can fix itself. Every minerial that is in the ocean is in your blood stream. They are very simular in salinity.

Not sure why this concept is so hard for the medical community to handle. But it is. If the body has the right materials it will normally heal itself. I wont make any claims about what sea salt will do for you.

Did you know patients with HIV are using sea water to maintain their health?

Sure they are !

Does sea water cure disease?

Not in the USA Only drugs cure disease here just ask the FDA.

I'm going to check it out in my local health store. I know we certainly use it in south Asia where I grew up. Salt to staunch bleeding (I kid you not|), for sore throats, rock salt in baths, bathing swellings and wounds in saline solutions. Yeah. Makes sense. Thanks Coolbreeze.

I cook with sea salt, so at least I am on the right track. I have also heard that sand is very healthy to dig one's feet into as it has minerals and the body absorbs it, don't know if this is true. Thanks for this hub!

I was researching the benefits of sea salt and came across your site. I had found the water cure website that basically advocates the necessity of sea salt and water drinking for the alleviation of common symptoms of disease in the body. What did I have to lose? I tried it. At first I had been drinking the water but not adding the salt. Then I started to get more conscious of adding the salt and OMG! I could not believe how much better I felt. I noticed that my body felt more relaxed, less tense and anxious. I could breathe better, less discomfort in the chest and more energy. It also seemed that I felt lighter as if I'd lost a little weight. That's what lead to my doing research on the benefits of sea salt. I couldn't believe what I was feeling. Now I know it was all true.
