Another category of foods that are also helpful towards weight loss are foods that are high in fiber. High fiber foods such as wholegrain, oats and brown rice are some fine examples. High fiber foods work by filling up your stomach quicker and preventing you from over-eating, thus, less calories are consumed.
Besides the first two category of foods, the third category of foods that you should also consider to lose weight are foods that are low in fat. Like the other two category, low fat foods works wonderfully because fat contains twice the amount of energy content compared to carbohydrates or protein of similar portion. As such, consuming less fat literally means consuming less calories naturally.
In addition, consuming foods that are high in water content such as watermelon are also known to benefit weight loss. As high water content foods are essentially low in calories and that water helps in fat metabolism, it is no doubt also great for weight loss.
Also finally, try to avoid foods that are high in sugars especially refined sugars. Foods that are high in sugars not only contains no nutrients, they also contribute to empty calories making weight loss impossible. Foods that are processed and convenient products are generally packed with sugars. Hence, if you have a sweet tooth, try reduce your sugar intake.
