- Use sources of cheap or free traffic.
- Apply the power of email marketing to keep in touch with your visitors... and turn them into buyers!
- Sell new products to your existing customer base.
- Unleash the power of affiliate programs for hands-free traffic and sales.
No matter where you are in your home based internet business, Newbie or seasoned Internet Marketer, you can always benefit from going through these proven series of steps, to ensure that you are doing everything possible to grow your home based internet business.
Step 1:-Find a hungry niche market First - Then look for a product to sell.
When you first start an working from home business, most people make the mistake of looking for a "hot product" first; this is why the majority of Internet home business start-ups fail.
The reason for this is simple because, most people do not go online to buy something - they go online looking for information or to solve a problem. Like where to find working from home based business.
By doing some simple research, you can discover what these people are looking for, and then figure a way to give it to them.
Once you have identified your hungry niche market and you have a product that will satisfy their wants, its time to do step 2.
Step 2:- Write a compelling sales copy.
The sales copy is the most important part of your home based internet business website, it will be the first point of contact most of your visitors are going to have with your work from home business.
Writing a compelling sales copy is a "science" not an "art" so it can be learned because there is a specific formula to follow. You need to focus on how your product will solve people's problems or improve their lives.
- Include a headline and sub-headlines packed with benefits.
- Use Testimonials to build credibility.
- Offer a strong guarantee
- Add bonuses
Don't forget to emphasize the benefits of your product not its features. You want visitors to have a clear idea of how your product is going to improve their lives .
Step 3:- Design a winning website.
You should only start building your working from home business website, once you know what you are going to sell and have written your sales copy. That way your site design will facilitate the sales, rather than get in its way.
Keep your site simple, you only have 10 seconds when someone arrives at your website to grab their attention;
- Choose a plain, sans-serif font (like Arial or Verdana).
- Use Black text on a white background.
- Make sure navigation is clear and simple, include a sitemap.
- Avoid using distracting flash or audio - unless it supports your message.
- Include an opt-in form to collect visitor's details.
If you make it simple for visitors to purchase, they will

Alan, PIPS is far from being the World's No. 1 program.
It's a very good program for newbies who doesn't know anything (and not only for them, right!), but that's a long way to No.1 :-)
To tell you honestly, I'm really bored of PIPS. As I already said, tons of newbies start with this program, copy and paste exactly the same ad and then buy some advertising space in ezines. During the last years I've seen the same PIPS ads for thousands of times.
Stone is making a lot of money from this program. He should give some of them back and hire a copywriter to change from time to time those boring ads. But probably he's busy and he no longer have time for his customers ...
Alan,
I will have to say that PIPS is the best place for a newbie to start, there are many of the Internets top marketers that have started with PIPS. Russell Brunson and Jeff Mullins (I'm pretty sure Jeff started there) to name a few.
Keep following your outline it's working nicely.
Nice article and plenty of food for thought.
I have also taken note of the comment left by solo ads. I'm a newbie to stones pips site and had no idea it had been running so long. Maybe I need to think again!
Graham
Graham, the biggest mistake you can make is to copy & paste an ad from the members area. This works only when the program is new or when the owner is taking care of his affiliates and changes the ads from time to time.
Here are some ads for PIPS that you should NEVER use because they were already used by thousands of people before you: http://www.ezinesforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4
Alan,
Just wanted to pop-in and say hi!
Great page:-)
Hi All
Thanks for leaving your comments and thoughts.
To some degree I will agree with Solo Ads, in that yes there are 1000's of people that get sucked into IM hype, that they will make millions overnight and very few of them change their layout of their homepage, they just keep on doing what all the other sheep do - you will never make any money that way.
You need to do more, write more, appear more and look different from all the other PIPSters to be successful.
I still think that PIPS is a fantastic springboard into the World of IM, but you cannot stay with it - you need to expand and develop your portfolio and I get BillS as an example.
The main thing is, as long as you are doing something and expand on your knowledge.
Here is to all of US achieving success in whichever program we choose.
Good advice in general Alan, hope to see more articles from you.
Great advice - well structured and easy-to-follow.
As you say, the key is in finding that niche - if you can find something that doesn't have a lot of hard competition but is still wanted/needed by many, then you're already halfway there!
You also make a great point about having great copy to promote your business or product - you need to engender this desire in people to actually want to buy your product or service. If you're not confident of writing this yourself, I recommend a professional copywriting company or service (oooh, is that considered a shameless plug??). ;-)
Great information, thanks!
