Breaking News

The best news is breaking news. People read the news because they want to be aware of what's going on - In politics, sports, current affairs, technology, movies, etc. I could just answer the question ( which was - Which are the best and unbiased news sources? ) in two words - Google News

But that would not only be simplistic, it would also be very short, and I need to stretch this hub a bit more. So I'll leave the best news award to Google News, and stick to an analysis of unbiased news sources. Continue reading my 'unbiased' opinion on the best news sources....

Unbiased News

Fair and Balanced

The above picture was found here.

Apologies to Fox News for titlelifting. But they asked for it. Looking at it from any angle, there's no way you can say that Fox News, or for that matter, the New York Times, DrudgeReport, HuffingtonPost, National Review or the WashingtonPost are unbiased. They're all baised. These are papers put out by humans, and the articles reflect their views. To put it simply, you won't find an unbiased news source.

What you need to look at here is the difference between news and analysis. News is fact, simply reported as it happens. it cannot be biased. The analysis is where things start going south. All you need to so is read the news and skip the bloviating from the MSM ( Mainstream Media ) pundits.

This is why I like Google News. It lists breaking news, categorized and ranked by importance and freshness. You scan the front page, find something interesting, which is news to you, and you read it. Regardless of whether the link is from Fox or the NYT. It's news. You don't have to read the opinion.

For example, whenever a new poll for the 2008 Presidential elections comes out, articles based on the polling data are available on almost every online news source. Which one would you read? National Review or WashingtonPost? Time or Newsweek? HuffingtonPost or Drudge? I say it doesn't matter. Just read the figures. Hillary's up nationally. Obama's up in South Carolina and New Hampshire. Rudy's going up in Iowa. McCain's going down everywhere. That's all you want to know. Who cares how McCain going down is good for Rudy or Thompson is responsible for McCain going down? That's opinion.

http://Unbiasd.com is good for lots of sources and the ability to rate articles based upon their bias.
