Sometimes it can be tough to choose the best sunglasses for you. You have to consider shape, style, and protection.

In this segment, we're just going to look at the style aspect of the best sunglasses.

Here are the best sunglasses styles.

Tom Ford Jack sunglasses -- doesn't get much better than this

Tom Ford Sunglasses

Tom Ford makes some of the best sunglasses around. I'm particularly fond of the Jack sunglasses which offer a different take on the classic wayfarer while retaining the boxy, thick frame and nerdy-chic style. These are expensive sunglasses, of course, but if you are planning on using them for a long time (and aren't prone to sitting on or misplacing them) then they may be a worthwhile investment.

Ray Ban Sunglasses (Wayfarers)

The Ray Ban wayfarer is one of the most classic sunglasses style around. You can find the same style that men in the 1960's and 70's wore, although there are also modern variations. The wayfarer is especially popular because it suits most people's faces and is urbane enough to be worn to the office or the bar. The black wayfarer has become fairly common recently, so if you're looking for something a little different, try a tortoise-shell or (if you're more adventurous) brightly coloured frame.

Ray Ban Sunglasses (Clubmaster)

The Ray Ban clubmaster, one of the big trends in sunglasses, is going to be the next wayfarer. Lots of people have wayfarers now, not many people have clubmasters. Want to stay ahead of the curve? Get yourself a pair of Ray Ban clubmasters. These sunglasses were popular in 1950's America and are often seen on CIA-types in films set during that era. This style is less versatile than the wayfarer, so there are certainly people who should stay away from them -- people with particularly round faces, for example, will look even rounder in these.

Little know fact: these sunglasses are actually called browline sunglasses -- Ray Ban just named their model the clubmaster.

Clear Framed Sunglasses

If you aren't feeling the clubmaster trend, then you may want to consider the other big trend in sunglasses: clear framed sunglasses. Included in this category are colourful, translucent frames. I really like these sunglasses for the pragmatic reason that they don't leave a sunglasses tan. Beyond that, there's no real good reason to have clear frames other than the fact that they are interesting by virtue of being different. I am currently using a pair of clear framed wayfarers, so I can recommend them wholeheartedly. It can be tough to find a nice pair of these sunglasses, but Paul Smith and Oliver Peoples make a nice model.

The oversized lenses of Prada sunglasses

Prada Sunglasses

Some people look very good in Prada sunglasses -- that is to say, the large, oversized lenses suit them. Most of these people are women. Some men may look good in Prada sunglasses, but they're few and far between. Women, on the other hand, usually look good in them. So, women: buy; men: stay away. That's my general advice.

Beyond that, I recommend Prada sunglasses for days when you're going to the beach or shopping around town -- in other words, don't wear them with formal officewear.

Great Hub! I love all those sunglasses! My favorite are those Prada Sunglasses. Do they just come in the black frame?
