Blades of Glory - Will Ferrel and Jon Heder

Blades of Glory is a 2007 comedy starring Will Ferrel and Jon Heder (Napolean Dynamite) as Chazz Michael Michaels and Jimmy MacElroy, two professional figure skaters that get permanently banned from the men’s singles competition when they get into a fight during an awards ceremony. After four years of not skating, they choose to put their differences aside and compete in pairs figure skating, much to everyone’s shock and dismay.
Will Arnett (Arrested Development) and Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live) play a rival brother-sister skating team, Stranz and Fairchild Van Waldenberg. Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam Beesly on NBC’s hit comedy The Office, will play Katie Van Waldenberg. Craig T. Nelson (Coach), William Fichtner (Prison Break), and Nick Swardson (Grandma’s Boy) will also have roles in the movie.
Filming was set back for a short while when Jon Heder broke his ankle training for the movie.
While I’m definitely planning on seeing Blades of Glory, I’m more than a little worried about Jon Heder. I’m a huge fan of Napolean Dynamite, but I really haven’t been able to enjoy him a role since. I didn't think he was funny at all in Benchwarmers. And despite not having big, thick glasses and the curly hair, he still resembles Napolean Dynamite, and of course sounds just like him. That’s not to say the guy isn’t funniest; he’s hilarious. I just hope his character is something completely new for him.
Will Ferrel, however, I’m excited to see. I got a little “Ferrell-out” a while back, when the theaters had nothing but Will Ferrel vehicle after Will Ferrel vehicle (to be honest, they were hilarious), but the recent Talladega Nights reminded me of just how drop-dead hilarious the guy can be.
Oh, and there’s no way that I would ever miss anything starring Jenna Fischer. I love me some Pam Beesly.
