Write Articles with Your Keyword Phrases

The first thing you need to do in order to garner more clients for your coaching business is to determine which key words are pivotal in your industry.  The next step is to write articles using the key word phrases you have determined.  Don't be discouraged if you aren't a professional writer.  Most people on the internet these days are not "writers".  They are merely individuals such as me and you that have some great information to share with others.

Make sure when you write each article that you include the link to your sales page at the bottom of each article.  You will notice that most articles include these boxes, called "resource boxes".  It is important, if not necessary, that the link to your sales page be a hyperlink of your most prominent keyword phrase.  As an example, I have an ebook on saving money on weddings.  My ebook could potentially have the following as my resource box:

"Stephen Beck specializes in teaching others how to put together classy weddings on a dime.  Check out his free report, 'Money Saving Wedding Tips'.  Click here to get your free copy today."

("Money Saving Wedding Tips  would be a link that people can click on to my sales page because that is the keyword phrase I have determined is most popular from my research on this topic.)

Anyone Can Write Great Articles

The Importance of Backward Links to Your Website

After someone clicks on the link in your resource box to get their free report, they are taken to your sales pages where they are prompted to enter their name and email in exchange for the free report.  Once name and email are submitted, they are taken to your sales page where they have the chance to buy your ebook on the topic.

The next step after this is to take the information you have on your website and turn them into articles if you haven't already done so.  Once you have some very informative articles on your topic, you will want to "blast them" or send them out to all of the major online articles and ezine directories.  Now you may be asking, what good is blasting articles on the internet?  Isn't that just a huge waste of my time?  However, I am here to tell you that this is not a waste of your time because webmasters are notoriously lazy and do not want to write their own articles. They almost always prefer something free that does not take them time of their own to write. They do not care one iota that by posting your article they are doing a little free advertising for you and in the process sending potential clients to your website. As each article becomes a portion of other websites and blogs, you in turn get a "backward link" or "backlink" to your site. This is key in determining rank in the search engines and can really improve your ranking.

Let's Review

So, as a review, you are essentially giving out free, high-quality information in the form of an article. Make sure you let your readers know that they are welcome to use your article on their blog or website as long as they give you credit by including your short bio, or resource box, with a link to your website. The more articles you have out there, the more backward links you have leading people to your squeeze or sales page.  For instance, if just one of your articles gets picked up by 200 different websites, that results in you having 200 unique links in the search engine pointing back to your website, which really gives you credibility as well as increase your marketing reach.

Don't forget that articles are a core component of increasing your website traffic.  Through keywords, they can create powerful backward links to your website and thus generate more potential customers for you.  The effectiveness of this technique cannot be overemphasized.

Articles are a Powerful Took for Climbing Rank in the Search Engines

As we've been discussing, articles are a great way to improve your search engine ranking.  Here's an example to illustrate my point.  Let's say you go out to eat at a restaurant and you know there's a local musician there, but you don't know what he looks like.  If you ask everyone at the restaurant, "Who is the musician here?" and one person raises his hand, you might be inclined to believe that he is the one you're looking for.  However, if everyone at the half of the restaurant also pointed to that same guys when you asked the question, then you are much more confident that he is the musician.  This is the same way that search engines work, in essence.

The Importance of Keyword Phrases

When you say that your website is on the topic of money saving ideas for weddings, some might think you're legitimate.  On the other hand if fifteen others, or even two-hundred others point to your website as being the one that helps people save money on weddings, the natural conclusion that the search engines, such as google, draws is that your website MUST be about saving money on weddings.  This becomes even more true if your website is titled as such when the search engines go to your website. Even better if your website has your keywords about saving money on weddings sprinkled throughout your webpage.

After a while, you will have high rankings in the search engines for multiple keyword phrases about your topic.  This is because your articles will start ranking in the search engines as well and each of them points back to your main website.  As an analogy, you may think of an entire army of salesmen all ranked highly (and sometimes for somewhat obscure keywords) pointing to your site. The end result is that many more people end up finding your website this way. You do not end up competing against thousands of other websites because your keyword phrases are longer for your main article keyword.

Articles: The Best Kept Secret

Articles really are one of the best kept secrets to drawing people in to your website.  Even your competitors will most likely end up using your articles on their own pages because the content is helpful and people are naturally lazy and do not want to reinvent the wheel.  If you've already done the work, why should they bother.  This can be a real asset for you as those people are going to inadvertently start funneling traffic to your website.

Before you know it, your site will be climbing in the search engines, which means more potential customers reading your sales letter each day.
