Blog design - why is it important?

Not just because blog designs look cool
You got a blog? You got high quality content? You got traffic? You even got SEO?
But do you have a good blog design? From the average blog on the internet, it seems like it is a resounding "No!" for the average blogger. Most of the time this is just because people do not know how to create a blog design or they assume that blog design is not important. There are a few instances where blog design is truly not important. For example, if the only person who reads your blog is your friends and family then blog design won't have much of an effect as they love you anyways.
I'm sorry, but the average person does not know you therefore they do not love you so they aren't as likely to look pass your blog design and give your content a true chance, especially if your design makes it impossible to find anything. While we all like to believe that the insides are what matters, it is hard to argue the effects of first impressions.
Everyone has been told how important first impressions are in day to day life, but how many people think it applies to blog design? Based on the average blog design, that would be another resounding "No!" Most blogs have a design that is equivalent to going on a first date in their pajamas.
A blog design represents a blogger and the message they are trying to communicate so it is important that your put in extra effort into learning how to create a better blog design. There are great tips, links, and resources at Best blog design resources.
