I just got a job coaching at Merced College, and after practicing since September it was time to put the team's skills to the test.  We started 3 and 0 before melting down against Diablo Valley College and allowing 7 runs in the 8th inning.  You could've pointed to many things that contributed to that loss, but in the end it came down to us not being ready for a situation of such adversity and pressure.

We're now 6 and 3, and travelling tomorrow to Bakersfield for a tournament.  There's a lot on the line this weekend to see what kind of team we really are.  We have won games 17-2, and lost games 13-6 with 4 errors.  It will be a great test Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and one that every team needs during their season if they want to test their mettle.
