Bodum Teapot
72The Bodum teapot is just part of the line of Bodum kitchen tools from coffee makers, mugs, glasses, tableware, toasters, and of course teapots. They have some neat designs when it comes these "pot of tea" and that is what this article will be about.
Started in 1944, Bodum started out in Denmark as a small wholeseller of various kitchenware. By the 50's, Bodum was creating their own products and designs that would eventually become what their brand name stands for today, In the 80's, the company really started to take off from their coffee and tea makers. Although they have expanded their product line greatly to include many kitchenware tools, their coffee and tea makers remain their core products. Since the company is now based in Europe, the best way to buy their products is online. They don't ship to every country so be sure to see if your country is included in their places of shipment.

Bodum Teapot - ASSAM teapot
This is one of their top selling products. The Assam teapot was developed in 1991 for the British Tea Council. If you enjoy tea, then you'll love this teapot. It's unique look and design helps extract the taste for the the leaves to give you the perfect taste and texture.
The Benefits of Tea
Let's take a quick break from the Bodum teapot and discuss the benefits of tea. Tea itself is the 2nd most consumed beverage in the world, water being the first of course. There are different types of tea such as green, black, red, herbal, and oolong. So why drink tea in the first place? There have been many studies that show the health benefits that tea's polyphenols can have in terms of reducing the risk of certain cancers. The typical recommendation is 3-6 cups a day. There is even a study that suggests that with just 2 cups of tea a day, women can reduce the risk of ovarian cancer by almost 50%.
Polyphenols are substances found in plants. They have been known to reduce cardiovascular disease and cancer because of its antioxidant component which can help reduce the damage of free radicals by neutralizing them. This substance can be found in berries, olive oil, coffee, walnuts, peanuts, and grapes among many other fruits and vegetables. This article is about the Bodum teapot but knowing a bit about the health benefits of tea can be useful. You can get antioxidants from various sources like vitamins. The way they help you is by giving an electron to the free radicals which are really just atoms with unpaired electrons which make them very unstable. I won't go any further with this but if you want to learn more, you can read about them.
Most types of teas come from the camellia plant. The main reason for the health benefits that drinking tea can produce comes from the polyphenols which is contained in the leaves. In terms of the color differences, the more the leaves are processed, the darker it will become. Therefore, green and white tea are the least processed tea. Even though the darker tea like black tea is processed more and fermented, they still contain polyphenols which means they can still give you the same health benefits. Tea actually ranks quite high in terms of antioxidant potential, in some cases, higher than many popular fruits and vegetables.
Now with the ever increasing popular herbal tea, you must know that this type of tea does not come from the same plant. It's actually a mix different herbs and flowers and other plants. Therefore, it may not have the same health benefits since they don't contain polyphenols. However, they do claim to help people relax better. In terms of caffeine in tea, it has about half the amount of what is contained in brewed coffee.
The design of the above Bodum teapot makes it a great decoration piece as well. When it comes to serving your guests, you can be sure that it will impress them. It's actually pretty neat to see the tea dissolve into the water. The handle gives and lever gives you an easy way to serve the tea. The leggings of the Bodum teapot gives it an extra elegant look as well.
Bodum makes a lot of different teapots. Here are a few videos demonstrating a couple of different ones.
Crema Teapot
As you can see, the Bodum teapot give you the ability to stop the brewing process in order to give you the right flavor instead of having to be stuck with tea that is too strong for you to enjoy. You can also see that the design in innovative as well as elegant. It definitely makes a nice addition to your kitchenware.
The next video just demonstrates a different product. The audio at the end is a little messed up though.
Even though they are unique designed and look great, a Bodum teapot is very reasonably priced as you can see below, and can make a perfect gift for any occasion. You can even have a little tea party out in your gazebo canopy on your fake grass.
