Body Building Training Programs- Keeping or Changing

Some people say it is good to keep the same training program for 2 or 3 months and then change it. Some say it is good to do a different and new training every day. Which of them do you think is the best way to get the better response from your body? I have heard somewhere that your body unconsciously starts "cheating" in how you do an exercise if you continue doing the same exercises without variation.

What I would say is to follow the same training program for at least 6 months to get benefit from that.

Can't really use any training method to it's fullest without giving your nervous system time to properly develop the neuromuscular pathways to use the exercise and rep ranges effectively, not to mention, the only people I've ever seen make serious gains without having a serious training plan, were on steroids. Those will cover a lot of mistakes with nutrition and training

Your body also needs this to adapt to the exercise enough to where you can increase resistance, thereby increasing workload, because the only way to get stronger is to move heavier weights, but you can almost always (for example) squat more after 6 weeks of squatting than you can on the first day.

So especially if your goal is strength, then you should stick to programs, but even for bodybuilding, progressive overload is a key, and you can't overload a muscle without developing a groove for the lift, to lift more than you normally could, because then after a while, that's the weight you normally can.

Cool Pics and good info. I've been training with the best. Played sports all my life. And I know one thing for sure. If you want to improve on certain area of your body, don't let those muscles get used to the exercises that your doing.

Because you very the exercises you will improve faster.

Knowing propper diet, Knowing how you want to work out. Do you want to gain big muscles, or losse weight. Knowing different programs is a plus.

And you just starting... Decide what you want and get that type of a program. You want to gain weight. Get the weight gaining program and use it till you reach your goal. Want to lose weight, find a program for lossing weight and use it till you reach your goal.

There is no time limits. Achieved your goal, move on.

Thanks artrush for a better insight into this issue. I agree that we should not let our muscles get used to the same exercise regimen for a longer period and rather we should change them frequently.

When you stick to a program that increases weight or reps, you are changing enough to keep your body guessing. for a training period. I think it is best to stick to a program or routine for at least 6 weeks to see progress, and longer if you continue to make gains in strength or size. You have some great pics on here too! cool hub.

Thanks for your comment and really useful advice. I agree that a person should not change a specific program so early if it is providing benefits to his/her body, changing after it is exhausted is fine though.
