BSH engineers confirmed that electrical component in a few model dishwashers might overheat and start a fire.
BSH Home Appliances voluntarily recalled almost 500,000 bosch and siemens dishwashers to correct the possible fire hazard.
The company have received about 50 reports of incidents including 30 in which fires caused property damages but no injuries.
The recalled dishwashers were manufactured from may 1999 through july 2005,model and serial numbers covered by the recall are,

Here it is the middle of March and I've just received notification on the Bosch recall!! I now see that the Consumer Product Safety Division had announced this recall back in mid-January. Its taken Bosch two months to let me know about a problem that could have caused a dangerous, and perhaps even a deadly, fire in my home. Now I'm told that it wil take approximately three weeks to get the part and that I shouldn't use the appliance until its fixed....I thought this was supposed to be a 'top of the line' dishwasher!!
It is supposed to be top of the line brand,but who knows where these parts are been made or where the dishwasher is assembled,my daughter ask me this morning---is everything made in china?

Fortunately, I don't have either brand dishwasher, although this is great information to be sharing with everyone on HubPages. Someone is bound to own one or know somebody who does.
