What is the iTouch?
The iTouch was Apple's response to users who wanted something similar to the iPhone but didn't want to jump to the AT&T network for cell phone service. The iTouch offers all the same features of the iPhone except for phone service, essentially. It acts as an all-in-one multimedia MP3 player; the only other function it does not offer that most other MP3 players offer is FM/AM radio stations.

iTouch details
The iTouch is currently on its second generation, having been re-released in September 2008. It comes in 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB models. They are flash memory-based which allows for the slim line of the device. It offers networking capabilities via a WiFi connection which allows a user to check stocks, utilize maps, access the iTunes Music Store and browse the Internet via the Safari web browser. All these features come preloaded into the device upon purchase. The second generation model also allows users to download free or pay-to-use applications that give greater function to the device.
These applications can be downloaded either by connecting the iTouch to your computer and using the iTunes Music Store or by using the Application feature on the device while connected to a WiFi network. Once installed, these applications can be used on the go, and in most cases, without being connected to a networking source. Applications range from the practical to the gaming side, and there are thousands to choose from via iTunes.
Is the iTouch worth it?
The iTouch is a powerful device for anyone on the go. It gives you the opportunity to take advantage of everything a MP3 player has to offer plus what your computer has to offer on a smaller scale. If you are on the go, like to be connected and are not ready for a smart phone, the iTouch is the best solution to stay connected, not pay an arm and a leg for it and give you control over how your MP3 player works for you.
