Brighten the day with charity

Since when was the last time you donate? Do you donate directly to charity organization or ‘donate' to people who ask for it by the roadside? So, do you donate in the form of money, clothes, books or yourself? Do not be mistaken, what I mean by donate yourself is doing volunteer work.

My form of donating is mostly donating through charity organization, charity box and making purchases where part of the revenue will be donated by the merchants to charity organization. Well, I am not saying that I have made a lot of donations but it all depends on how much I can afford at that time. But normally, when I make purchases at McDonald, I will donate the changes into the charity box. In addition, some of my blog's posts' earning is donated to Habitat for Humanity and Alzheimer's Walk.

I often refrain myself from donating to people who beg for money. I have seen advertisement calling out for people to stop donating to people who beg by the roadside because there are organizations who are there to help them. Sometimes, there are also reports that say people are pretending to be disabled in order to earn pity from the public. I was once told by my friend who said that she had seen a group of blind, dropped off from a van, and went into a busy hawker centre asking for money. Who are to determine what is real and what is not? Thus, I have stopped giving money to people who beg for money.

If you ever think of donating, there are various organizations that help those in need in many ways. UNICEF helps children receive the support, health care and education they need to survive the threats of childhood poverty - such as preventable disease or malnutrition - and grow up to become healthy adults. Everyone should be treated the same yet not everyone is born the same.

There are various methods to make a donation; from sending a check to the simplest form, a text message. Honestly, this is the first time that I look into these websites. I believe that you will be amazed by the various methods that you can do to help instead of what normally comes to people's mind when talking about donation; money. By doing your part, these organizations they will have the funds and supports to help those in needs.
