British Open 2009

All are on tenterhooks to see if Tom Watson will win the British Open Championship 2009.

As this is being written, Tom Watson is in the lead with a 4-under, followed by Ross Fisher and Mathew Goggin in tied second place.

Tom Watson

Tom Watson, a senior player aged 59, astounded the golfing world when he was top of the leaderboard on the first day of the tournament. Many thought it was a lucky fluke. But he is showing the world that that ain't so!

It will be a historic moment if he wins the British Open. It was 32 years ago that he won a British Open at Turnberry.

We wait with bated breath for the final outcome - but it's looking good.

Update:

Alas. It was not to be!
