Wii Would Like to Play

With U.S. retail supplies still severely limited, your best bet - if you want a Wii, is to buy Nintendo Wii online now. Don't wait until the rush of the Christmas shopping season is upon us, buy that console or bundle you want now. You'll be saving yourself precious time and money (if you wait until the holiday season rolls around again, the price you will pay and the competition to get them, will be much higher then). To help make it easier for you to find and buy Wii online, I'm going to share 3 smart shopping tips with you.

Buy Nintendo Wii online at eBay

If you go about it the right (smart) way, buying Nintendo Wii online at eBay may give you the best opportunity to get a good deal on this game system. Looking at the current auctions for Wii, there are a great number of Wii consoles and bundles available for purchase. Combine this with the fact that EBay sellers of all shapes and sizes are competing with one another at different price points to sell their Wii inventory as quickly as possible. Wii is a very strong seller on EBay and no seller wants to miss out on making a profit from it. As a result, there will be differences in pricing and/or shipping costs, so pay close attention and keep the following tips in mind when bidding:

  • Be specific when entering the search terms for the items you want to bid on in the eBay search bar and carefully read the auction description to be sure you know exactly what it is that you're bidding on - if you have any questions, contact the seller for clarification
  • Carefully look at the seller's feedback rating to make sure you're dealing with a reputable eBay seller. Click on the detailed feedback link in the auction to review prior sales transactions (beware of sellers with low feedback scores and those who sold/bought a lot of very cheap items quickly to build up feedback)
  • Carefully review the seller's requirements for making payment, return policy & shipping costs; many eBay sellers only accept PayPal - this can be good for you, too because certain auctions are eligible for buyer protection and PayPal's dispute resolution + the protection available from your credit card company, can intervene in the event things get twisted between you and the seller
  • Focus your attention on auctions that have at least 4 days left before its listing expires and feature a 'Buy It Now' button. Save the auctions you're most interested in to your favorites (you can also subscribe to the RSS feed of the Nintendo Wii search results through the advanced search function) and use your time to research the recently completed auctions to determine if the 'Buy It Now' price represents a good deal for you or not.

In addition to the above-referenced shoping tips, I add the following piece of advice:don't get into any bidding wars with other eBay buyers! Buyers can get caught up in wanting to win the auction; doing so only causes you to shell out more money for the item you want.

When Buying Nintendo Wii Online, Buy the Console Not the Bundle

When you buy Nintendo Wii Online, you should buy just the Wii console instead of the Wii bundle. The Wii bundle is going to cost more money because you're purchasing the console plus added on items like games and accessories. With the very high demand for Nintendo Wii and the super tight supply of available inventory, a retailer (online or off) might want to bump up the price for certain items in the bundle to get a little more profit. So you may be able to save some money when you buy Nintendo Wii online by getting the console only. Of course, if you really want everything included in the bundle, buy the Wii bundle.

Buy Nintendo Wii Online at Amazon Now

Buying through Amazon can provide you with a really sweet opportunity to buy Nintendo Wii online now through Amazon.com or Amazon Marketplace merchants. If the item is in-stock at Amazon.com, the listing will indicate that. If it's for sale through Marketplace, just click on the these sellers link next to Availability. You'll be able to see how many of these merchants have Nintendo Wii in-stock, the prices and whether it's new, used or collectible. Obviously, Wii inventory is constantly changing, so if you see the Wii console or bundle you want on Amazon, buy it. Don't go to Amazon looking to buy the cheapest priced Nintendo Wii. Just as you would with EBay sellers, pay close attention to the Amazon seller's feedback rating, the cost + shipping (shipping is separate from the item cost) and the condition. Here's a link to an article on how to buy wii online at Amazon.

  • Nintendo Wii Supply Meets Demand

It appears that retailers like GameStop finally have enough Nintendo Wii consoles in stock to meet customer demand for the game console. Yes it took 3 years, but its very good news for those of you who are looking to buy a Wii. This is great news considering that demand, in spite of the weak economy, remains very hot -Wii is still the number 1 selling game console and Nintendo sold 753,000 Wii consoles in the U.S, for the month of February (a 74% increase in sales).

  • How to Use eBay's Advanced Search Tool to Easily Create Your Very Own Wii Tracker to Find And Buy Wii Online

As promised in my last post, I'm going to show you how to use eBay's Advanced Search tool to create your very own Wii tracker to find and buy Wii online. If you didn't register to get your own eBay account yesterday, click here to get your eBay account now because you can't put this tool to use for you or shop at eBay if you don't have an account. Now that you've registered your account, let's get it started. Go to eBay's home page - eBay.com - and sign into your account. From the search bar (at the top of the page) click on the Advanced Search link. From the Search: Find Items page, click search title and description and save this search to My eBay. In the first block enter the keyword of the item your searching for and select the category. Since we're looking for a Nintendo Wii console or bundle, that's what we'll enter as our keyword(s). Video Games is our category and select All of these words;Next, under Exclude these words, enter the terms you want excluded from the results. So enter words like "-PS3", "-Playstation 2", "-Xbox 360", "-mystery auction";Since we are searching for a very popular item, leave the Items Priced section blank. Select From any sellers (under From Sellers), Items located in your country (under Location) and your preferred currency (under Currency); and Under Show only, select All under Buying options, Items listed with PayPal and Listings Ending within your desired amount of time (I would choose within 4 days); andFinally, from the Sort by, View results and Results per page drop down menus, choose your settings and click "Search". When you get your results, click on the Save this search link and pick the period of time you want eBay to send you emails about updates/additions to this search. That's it - we're done. eBay will now send you daily updates to the search results for Nintendo Wii consoles and bundles by email for as long as you have it saved to your My eBay.

  • Looking To Buy Online At Amazon? Here Are Some Tips You Can Use....

If you want to buy Wii online at Amazon.com, this post is for you. Since Amazon sells products from its own inventory and provides a sales platform, Marketplace, to other marketers who want to sell their own products, I thought this info might be helpful to you. When you buy a Wii (or anything else for that matter) at Amazon, the most important thing is to know who the seller is. It could be Amazon.com or an Amazon Merchant. I know that sounds simple, but if you're all giddy over finding the Japanese version of Nintendo Wii in-stock, knowing the difference could be crucial. At the very least, the cost could be quite different. If you want to buy a Wii console or bundle from an Amazon merchant, approach it the same way you would if you were buying from a seller on eBay. Make sure you research the seller's feedback rating before you buy. Feedback history is going to tell you whether or not the merchant is someone you want do business with. Does the seller promptly fill and ship orders? How does the seller handle disputes - does feedback display the ability and desire to fix disputes. Does the seller deliver the merchandise as described? When paying for items bought from Amazon merchants: Only pay for items through Amazon Payments, the only authorized and recognized way to pay for Marketplace purchases. Don't ever use any other form of payment. Returning Computer & Video games: If you purchase computer & video games through Amazon.com, you can return unopened items that are still in plastic wrap within 30 days of the date you received them. But Amazon doesn't accept returns of products purchased from their merchants. Merchants will accept returns of computer & video games in their original condition up to 30 days after it ships. Exception: game software titles purchased in new condition can't be returned if the package has been opened unless the game is defective. For more information on ordering from Amazon merchants, visit Amazon.com.

Kevin,

Thanks for that resource, but that site isn't the only online store that has Wii consoles and bundles in-stock. Also, I would find it hard to believe they always has them in stock - especially when larger, more established etailers cannot.

I bought mine on Amazon for $249.99 with the Wii Sports, one Wiimote and one Nunchuck. Brand new too.

keepgaming has stock available because they charge $100 more than the major retailers. Ebay is still cheaper.
