Beach Outing

You have chosen the best spot in a beach in Maryland. The view is simply splendid, the coastline is sparkling white and there are lots of fun activities lined up for you to do. You sit back, relax, and tell yourself, “This is the life!” Then when you open your food container you realize one thing, the food you brought are already spoiled. Now that spoils the entire trip as well.

Knowing the importance of food in our everyday lives, it is a must that food is always kept fresh and safe especially during outdoor activities such as beach outings. In order for you to accomplish that and make sure you have the best kind of beach outing, here are some helpful tips to consider.

How to Buy Food for Camping

Tag Your Coolers Along With You

Pre-Camping Rituals

  • Plan your menu carefully. Opt for easy-to-cook but delicious meals so that you do not take too long cooking. Planning your menu will also ensure that you do not forget any ingredient as well as any piece of important cookware in your trip. Furthermore, this will also make sure that you do not include a meal that can easily go bad such as anything that is tomato based.
  • Bring a high quality ice cooler. A proficient cooler such as Coleman coolers for example will do a great job in keeping your food fresh and frozen. It is always a good idea to bring two coolers, one for food and the other one is for the drinks. This is because it is likely that you will open the cooler with drinks more frequently and by having a separate cooler for the food, you will be able to save ice and keep food frozen longer.

An Efficient Way to Cook

Use Proper Gear and Equipment

  • Use efficient cookware and stove. Cooking outdoors is a bigger challenge than when doing it inside the comforts of your own kitchen. Therefore, it is imperative that you select good quality cookware and camping stove so that you will be able to cook your food evenly despite windy conditions.
  • Pre-chill or pre-cook food before putting it inside the cooler. Pre-chilled food consumes less ice while pre-cooked food is less likely to spoil.

More Tips For Camping Enthusiasts

  • Place your coleman coolers under a shady spot. Putting your cooler under the direct heat of the sun can easily melt down the ice and cause for the food to spoil. When transporting the cooler, it is better to place it inside the car than in the hot trunk where it can get toasted.
  • Store leftover food only when there is still ample ice left in your cooler. If there is no more ice, it is better to discard the leftover than be sorry in the end.
  • Opt for block ice for this last longer than tube or cube ice.
  • Always cover food. Food exposed to air even for only a short time becomes contaminated with bacteria that is why, it is important to make it a habit to cover up your food at all times. Re-heat food before eating it to kill any bacteria that might be in it.

Food Preservation

Eat Only the Best when Camping

And Finally...

It is never enough to simply make sure that the food you bring to your beach trip is delicious. You should also ensure that it is fresh and safe to avoid any unfortunate results such as a stomach ache or a food illness.
