Cameron left home at sixteen and was 'discovered' by a photographer at a party who got her a place with the Elite Modeling Agency. Cameron worked as a model in Japan, Australia, Mexico, France and Morocco, attending High School at Long Beach Poly, California, where she was a half-time dancer at football games and graduated in the class of 1990.

Everybody thinks I've surfed my whole life, but I just picked it up. Probably because I grew up in California, people think I've always done it, but we would only go to the beach in the summer. My folks worked full time so we would take the bus to the beach and we'd hang out there all day. I never surfed because I didn't have anybody to teach me how to and I didn't have a surfboard, but I bodysurfed all the time.

Cameron: (on her “The Holiday” co-star, Jude Law) I love him. He's fantastic, such a good guy. Lovely, charming, funny and smart. He's just the perfect gentleman. It's dangerous for him because all the girls on the set are foaming at the mouth. But I'm proud of them for the most part, they held it together. He didn't leave shredded. But he's so lovely to everyone. He engages everyone in the same way, treats everyone the same, which is so rare in any person, let alone someone who people are so naturally attracted to. I think the guys also had man-crushes. All the guys loved him.

Cameron: (on the best way to mend a broken heart) Being active. Get out in the world and find yourself.

Cameron: (on modern men becoming more sensitive to women's needs) I think we're breaking them down, man, we're doing it! [Laughs.] We're going to have success here. I'm teasing. I think one of the great things about a man is the way he does relate to his feelings. It's what makes us different from them and of course there's always going to be that [feeling of], "How come he can't see it my way? I wish he understood how I felt." He's never going to. It's never going to happen. But it's nice to see that when the paths meet halfway we can get a little bit closer. Obviously in a world where you're expected to make a relationship work, if we can just build those relationships a little bit better, maybe we will get a little bit closer to being able to do that. But I don't have any answers. I'm just doing the best I can.

Cameron: I think people get married these days because they can get divorced. But saying, "I can get married, because I can get a divorce"? I don't like that.

Cameron: (asked if she believes there is one person for everyone) I don't know. You don't know if a relationship is going to work, you really don't. It's hard to say, "I found this person and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I am going to take a chance with this person and we are going to have something wonderful together." I really think that's brave because, in this day and age, our lives are so full and affected by so many things, people have so many options they never had before.

Cameron: (on not wanting to say the line "No-one has time for sex anymore" in “The Holiday”) Well, you can read whatever you like into that comment. But seriously, I don't want people to think it's okay to be in a relationship where you're not having those kinds of relations with the person. What are you in that relationship for? I don't think it's healthy so it was hard for me to say that. I said it because that was the line in the movie. It wasn't about me!

Cameron: (on being called a “typical California girl") Are you calling me typical? I beg to differ. Well, I'm from California. I'm naturally a blonde, so there I go falling right into the stereotype. I smile a lot, I'm happy. But I can be sad. I can muster it up!

Justin & Cameron: (a joint statement released in January 2007) It has always been our preference not to comment on the status of our relationship, but, out of respect for the time we've spent together, we feel compelled to do so now, in light of recent speculation and the number of inaccurate stories that are being reported by the media. Cameron: I had a major girl-crush on Pamela Anderson. Still do - she's hot as ever - but she was my first. When I first discovered her I was like, 'Wow, she's so beautiful!

Cameron: (on duets with boyfriend Justin Timberlake) We sang a couple of duets in the car once…. They didn’t go so well.

Cameron: Growing up, I was the plain one. I had no style. I was the tough kid with the comb in the back pocket and the feathered hair.

Cameron: Grease is the only cure for a hangover.

Cameron: French fries. I love them. Some people are chocolate and sweets people. I love French fries. That and caviar.

Cameron: I don't say that I won't do nudity for other people's benefit. It has nothing to do with other people's, it's just what I'm comfortable with. I can't say this enough, I'm totally comfortable with my body. I like my body, I don't think it's a bad thing, I think I have a nice body, I'm happy with it.

Cameron: I'd kiss a frog even if there was no promise of a Prince Charming popping out of it. I love frogs.

Cameron: I was a tough kid with the jeans, the concert shirt with the flannel over it, the comb in the back pocket and the feathered hair.

Cameron: It's cute when you meet young boys and they're bright red and breathing like they've run up the stairs, but they're just sitting outside the door. I've had phone calls in the middle of the night when I stay at hotels.

Cameron: Most men are the same. They're only interested in f*cking you and they don't care whether you're happy or sad. They just want to get on with their business in and out of bed, and they make you feel that you don't count except as their sex toy.

Cameron: Sometimes I enjoy talking, but when it's like people are trying to find something out about me, I don't. If we are just sitting having a conversation, being real human beings with one another it is just fantastic. I try to keep my life out of it, not giving it away. I don't volunteer a lot of information.

Cameron: I'm like any other woman--a closet full of clothes, but nothing to wear. So I just wear jeans.

Cameron: I won't tell the name of my cats. That's something that is mine, and I don't want the whole world to know.
