Camping Equipment and the Best of Camping Photography
70Travel and Camping Photography – Things to Bring
Sleeping bags, check. Tents, check. Lanterns, check. Outdoor cooking equipment, check. You've got almost everything covered. But aside from making an extensive list of Camping Equipment to bring, it's also important that you pack every essential photography equipment to ensure that you have everything you need to capture priceless moments of the trip.
Here are some of the things to include on your travel photography checklist:
- Camera. This is the foremost basic photography equipment you'll need. You have the option of using the traditional film camera or go digital. There are also the choices between point-and-shoot cameras and single lens reflex (SLR cameras).
Each of this camera has its own pros and cons. For example, point-and-shoot cameras, though easy to use are known to have a hustter lag and digital noise while SLR cameras produce more good quality photos especially if you are adept in using it, otherwise, it's a little harder to operate.
As with digital cameras, going digital means you don't have to spend money on film and you can easily delete a photo gone wrong. Aside from that, you can instantly see your shot and make the necessary adjustments in case you don't like it. Getting to know each type will make it easier for you to choose the camera suitable for you.
- Waterproof camera bags and camera cases. When travelling, there are many possible activities that involve water like fishing, boating, kayaking and canoeing. And to make sure that your camera is kept dry, it's good to invest on waterproof camera bag and case, and to always have a small towel handy to wipe off any water that gets on your camera.
- Tripod. This comes in handy when you want to take pictures with yourself included or when you're waiting to conspicuously take a photo of an animal which won't get anywhere near as long as you're in sight.
- Flash. You'll need an external flash if your camera is not equipped with one or you want to have some extra lightning for your photos.
- Memory cards for digital cameras and for film for film cameras. It is recommended to use a couple of small sized memory cards than to have a once card with enormous size so that not all photos will be lost if the memory card gets lost or damaged. Also, be sure to always bring extra film.
- Extra batteries. Rechargeable batteries are always a good option.
- Charger for your batteries. Rechargeable batteries are useless without a charger so don't fail to bring this.
- Power adapter. Some places have a different kind of electric outlet so it's wise to have a power adapter handy so you can recharge your batteries without having to worry about finding the right electric outlet.
- Cleaning gear which includes a lens and a cloth for wiping the surface of the camera.
- Filters to add color and mood to your photos.
Photography is an excellent way to capture priceless moments during your travel. With the right kind of photograpy equipment , it won't be hard to immortalize the trip. Just remember to bring the necessary Camping Equipment before hitting the road, otherwise, all the planning will become a wasted effort.
