Can you really get paid to read emails?

Many people are using the internet to look for legitimate ways to earn and one of the methods that seems to attract many is reading emails. All you have to do is register, free of charge in most cases, get sent email and read the email. Easy, right?

There are a few points that people seemed to have missed. I would just like to clear up a few misconceptions that people may have of earning through this method.

First of all don’t quit your day job. Reading emails is no way going to earn you near enough to live off. On some programmes you will get paid around about $0.02 per email and only receive about 5-10 emails per day. Think of it instead as a nice little bonus for the long term.

You are not going to become rich overnight, as I mentioned before the pay isn’t that much.

This work is not a scam. People have unrealistic expectations from this programme, if you think you are going to earn a lot then think again.

It’s not a difficult job but can get a little boring after a while.

Over all there are legitimate companies that do pay. You just need to be careful and avoid the scams. The signs are obvious, they promise you that you will earn a lot (you wont!), they ask you for money etc.

If you want a list of the programmes where you can get paid to read emails then click here.

I hope that helps.

I sometimes do this for InBoxDollars but, it seems pretty tedious for what I get. MyPoints seems to earn me a little more though. So it seems worth it. I will check out your suggestions.

Hi Jim, Yep I joined InboxDollars too. I haven't joined my points yet though. I'll check it out. Thanks!
