LTTE Leader Prabakaran Photo Gallery with Family

Srilankan Government on monday declared that LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabhakaran was shot dead while trying to flee in an ambulance before dawn.

Prabhakaran killed after 18 years of Rajiv Gandhi's Assassination.

Military officials said Prabhakaran who turned LTTE into the world's meanest guerilla force and a few top LTTE leaders were killed in firing by the Army.

My hats off to the Sri Lankan government for sticking to its guns no matter the cost. The people of Sri Lanka can finally and hopefully enjoy some peace and quiet in there lives. Although it is sad to hear of civilian casualties it saddens me more to know LTTE used them specifically as human shields over the years specifically to stop a massive ground assault. May the civilians rest in peace.

The ending of the Tamil Tigers is no reason to shed any tears; but now how well the Sinhalese majority can put the northern section of their country back together and forge a real peace, not a armistice until some other group arises to protest grieviances real or imagined that strike a chord in the Tamil minority....
