What is up with celebrities these days? They are all on some kind of self destructive trip! Going back in time we can agree I'm sure that celebs have always had trouble dealing with fame. Look at Elvis or Marilynn Monroe or even Jimi Hendrix. These are the old timers now but even back then celebs had trouble dealing with fame.

But nowadays, it seems the norm for a celebrity to be totally screwed up. You use to have the brat pack back in the day with Dean Martin and Sammy Davis and Frank Sinatra....now you REALLY have a brat pack with Britney Spears and Lindsey whatever her name is. They are all on some kind of self destructive path.

Look at sports. Boxing for instance. Always a violent sport it has been but, I don't remember Sonny Liston ever biting Cassius Clay's ear off! How about baseball? Remember the good old days when they used to sign autographs for FREE and be a model of sorts to kids? Now they charge for autographs and take drugs to cheat around poor performance...and occassionally they go on strike because 20 million a year isn't enough for them. Greedy no good bastards!!

It really seems as though pop culture is beginning to drown in its own filthy toilet bowl. Sluts, greedy stars, and American hating actors like Danny G and Sean Penn. It's sad really. But what kind of trend is this?

Do we see this reflected in our youth? I think so. Back in the 1980's (which isn't THAT long ago) no one was worried about kids bringing guns to school. There were no cops in school to keep order. You didn't talk back to your teachers and if you did, and got a smack from the teacher you didn't DARE tell your folks!!! Because if your parents found out you made the teacher that angry then you would REALLY get it at home!

Any ways I'm done ranting here and I hope I have some of you on my side. We need to teach our kids that celebs are actually losers and not to be like them. But how do you do that when your kids see the celebs on TV with gold chains and "bitches" and cadillacs....

Swearing. You had a hard time hearing the word "Damn!" on tv at one time. Now on regular programming the language is out of control
