If you have installed a WordPress blog, you know there is much more to do with it than just blog. You can add extensions, themes and widgets now. Finding the right theme is essential to the success of your blog whether you are marketing something professional, sharing stories with family or friends or just taking pride in what you are blogging about.


While narrowing down a theme can tricky, changing the theme can still be difficult for those just learning how to use their new WordPress blog. You can search WordPress' web site for themes or search for third party ones via Google or other search engine. In some cases, you may need to find a specific theme or version of said theme. Take the time to find the right version for the WordPress installation version you have, otherwise it may not be compatible.

Once you have found your theme and downloaded it, you will to upload it to the wp-content/themes folder on your server. Once the files are uploaded, they will then be recognized by the Settings option in your administrative controls for your WordPress blog. You simply login, navigate to the theme controls and you will see it there. Click on the theme and you can apply it, see a preview of it and begin to tweak the settings involved with it.


There is nothing more exciting than finding the right theme for your WordPress blog. Take the time to find the theme that speaks to you, your goals and your blog. Once you find it, the perfect fit will had some style and flair to your WordPress blog it might not have had with the default theme. There are a host of themes to choose out there, just find the one that fits your WordPress blog, and you will be ready to embrace your blog.
