cheap special effects for the amateur movie maker: old, coagulated blood
58This is a quick, easy fix if you need an old, ugly wound. It is also safe to put in your mouth, as it is made entirely out of food.
If anybody ends up using this effect, I would love to see it. I would appreciate it if you would put a link to your video or pictures on my comments page.
ingredients
corn syrup
food coloring: red
food coloring: green
flour or cornstarch
toilet paper
intructions
- Mix together the corn syrup and the corn starch/flour to get a very sticky, very viscous liquid. When placed on a vertical surface, it should drip very, very slowly.
- Add red food coloring until you get a satisfactory hue
- Add a little green. You should need very little of this. It is only to darken the red: just using red makes for a poor color.
- Rip up the toilet paper into scraps of roughly one suare inch. these do not have to be even close to perfect. In fact, the less uniform the better.
- Thoroughly soak the t.p. scraps in the blood
- Wad them up and apply them to your skin
